Every thing I read people say about these is either great, terrible, or just only "geeks" or "morons" will use them. So basically, no one has a clue except those few who have actually used them. Its kind of annoying.

Been looking to replace my three year old laptop for a while now. So far from hearing about it I am in love with the chrome book. I see many people carrying around the Ipad and I feel that is over priced. I have looked into netbooks, but I'm not really sure about them.

The chromebook I feel like would be awesome for my needs. I could buy the Acer wi-fi one and use it at my house and school no need for 3-G. The battery life seems like it would be perfect for those days I am in school for long periods of time, and not need to carry a charger.

I currently use Amazon Cloud Player and am really impressed with it. (CAN NOT STAND ITUNES!) It does lag a few times, but that could just be my internet. Can get Cloud running on my laptop and desktop so its great having music in one place.

I was just wondering two things if anyone could help me with.

~I use an MP3 player which I currently buy and download music from Amazon MP3 Store to Windows Media Player where I then sync the music to my mp3. Is there a way to sync directly from the Cloud Amazon uses to my mp3 or will there be an option for me if it is all online?

~Are there apps I will be able to store all of my pictures on? I think I read the Chromebook has a built in memory card reader.

Very excited for these! I'll be away when they will be released, but if all reviews turn out good I'll have to pick one up when I return home.

Oh and by the way thank you for this thread Suf or I would have been a while before I heard about Chromebooks =D

Absolutely. Amazon Cloud Drive (where all of Cloud Player's music is stored) lets you upload documents, pictures, and any other files you want, athough it does count toward your 5GB of free space. Google has Picasa, which also lets you upload (and share) pictures, and I'm sure that there will be more services like these to come.

Right. People will try to make some profit off of these, so cloud based services will most likely explode at some point.
