I'm not eager to specifically put down your beliefs. I simply want to know what they are so that I may see if they're logically consistent, consistent with science, and so on. If something is reasonable, I'm not going to call it stupid.

Besides, you already seem to be preaching your beliefs. If you just want to tell us "you're wrong, and I'm right", well, I don't have much to say to you. If, however, you want to discuss why I'm wrong, and you're right, then a conversation can flourish.

 

You people seem to believe in everything your parents and the New Testament tell you. You are lost. Just because someone or something says something and claims their correct doesn't mean they're true... Now in this world you have to be a very open-minded person. Be aware that what may be right to you may be wrong to others so thoroughly examine the views of others others and find the actual facts before insulting their beliefs. Dude, it depends on the way you interpret it. They'res many people trying to claim a thing too many, one verse could mean more than one thing and could be talking about something else entirely. It would be more logical to doubt those claims over the Qur'an itself. You've heard that story called "Religion and the Scientist", right? Whoever the author is, he's one of those over claimers...

These "scientific facts" are idiotic. The only reason that people still believe that they are true is because fundamentalist Muslims claim that the verses in the original Arabic could not be fully translated to English, and that if only you knew Arabic, you would understand. Perhaps another reason is all of those who would behead those who insult Islam.

The disputed "scientific facts" are of not a immense quantity tough. The Qur'an does show some verses which more thoroughly explain the scientific logic behind things. Well, because of all the "blur", you could say the Qur'an is more a book of signs rather than definitely stated scientific facts.

For example:

In chapter 22, verse 5, "... We cause whom we will to rest in the womb for an appointed term...".

In chapter 23, verse 18, "We sent down water from the sky measure and lodged it in the ground and we certainly are able to withdraw it."

In chapter 25, verse 61, "Blessed is the one who placed the constellations in the Heaven and placed therein a lamp and a Moon reflecting light."

In chapter 27, verse 18, "They ... The ants bury the dead and can have what can be said to be an equivalent of a market place."

 

I rather think that people knew that women were pregnant for around 9 months before the Quran came into being.

The fact that the moon reflects light can actually be observed by a single man, with no special equipment. The positions of the Earth, sun, and moon will result with a certain phase of the moon being shown in the sky. All one had to do was recognize that the Earth was round, and that the sun and the moon moved (it appears as if the sun moves; it is not necessary to presume the rotation of the Earth).

From what I understand, ants do not bury their dead. They may recycle their bodies, so as not to wasted nutrients, however

They have a common area, true enough, but it's not quite a place where goods and services are exchanged. In any case, this can be observed by simply looking at an ant nest.

Hmm... Those were just developing theories around that exact time when Islam was first perceived and scientifically proven by some Arab and few Greek scientists. What it was saying about the length of time a women was pregnant was probably talking about that how babies can be born pre- or over- mature. Also, I have seen ants get buried in a mini-ant farm a few times.

 

Actually, those concepts were around since the time of the Ancient Greeks.

Ants, being creatures that dig in dirt, probably get buried once in a while.
