I apologize for not noticing sooner. As you can see (aside from the posts made by the hacker) I haven't been to active here in quite a while.

Please let me know what I can do to help prove it's me. I recovered the account with my email that is registered to it this morning with no trouble. Also my ip address won't be the same as when it was created. However I've never moved out of the province I created it in, hopefully that helps. I have moved a few times since creation, but never outside of the province.

@FireZ he told me that you're the only person still around from back then - are you in any way able to verify @ChrisColpitts' recovery?

 

@Astro asked me to create another post to reply to my other post and the mods could merge it.

I'm at a loss for how to prove I am who I am. Through PM i've identified the exact location of where my account was originally created, i've provided my original email and the email that is currently on the account. I don't know if @FireZ remembers me, this was along time ago, but I remember him. Most of the other members who were active back then don't seem to be anymore. I see @BluePig is still active, maybe he remembers me?

At the end of the day, if I can't be verified it's not the end of the world. I haven't been active in a long time and I probably won't ever have the time in the future to be very active again. I did however always enjoy coming back and lurking occasionally(always loved sythe).

If anyone has any suggestions on how I can prove it's me i'd be happy to try the suggestion!

Unfortunately I can't be of any help. My response on the thread was a good faith response, I don't have any personal connection to him.

 

I remember him but dont know how to verify him yet.

My profile pic for awhile was transparent picture of me, I doubt that you have that available to you though. I don't have any old emails really, just the email addresses used for this account. Not sure if this would help but I could send you a picture of my drivers licence that 1. verifies my name is Chris Colpitts and 2. verifies my location is the same as the primary IP that has been used for this account?

 

That would definitely be a step into the right direction. I'll see if @Sythe has any old avatars stored from pre-xenforo.
As for the ID, I'm looking for something along these lines https://download.okpay.com/images_verification/idverification.jpg
So a selfie whilst holding the ID with your name on it, the date and something like "sythe.org" on the piece of paper.

 

@Astro that's perfect thank you. I'll get you that screen shot by tonight. Is it ok if I block out some personal information like street address, drivers licence number? And can i ask that you don't show the picture publicly?

 

Sure you don't need to show us your location or numbers, just need an official document that states your name etc. Sure, just create a new post and title it something along the lines of [FOR ASTRO DON'T APPROVE] and we'll hide it.

Ok, I will let you know if I can think of anything else. I'm not sure how I could do better than a picture of me with my ID and emails used on the account and the current email. If there's anything else you think I can provide you let me know. If I posted anywhere in old threads with an email that you know of I can show you I still own that email.
