Dont think you were catching my drift. The clan owner ideally stocks most of the item in game. He then distributes stock to the ranks, according to whatever allocation method he has. Then he can release the item to the clan. Clan members will get very small amounts of stock as the item rises, while the ranks who have purchased their right to stock, enjoy the most benefit

Thats why one requirement to buy the rank would be to have the ability to do your own junk trading, or buy able to pay someone to buy it off, as I dont want to be responsible for having to dump other members stock for them. They would be well aware of it before purchasing the rank.

No, I understand. It's just once you give the ranks their items, couldn't they just go and buy more from the G/E since it hasn't officially been bought out? That's why I think buying ranks is pointless.

Thats why the leader needs to buy out most of the item first, THEN give stock to his ranks once he has almost all of the stock, THEN he releases it to CC to help it rise.

I would love to be apart of a merch clan.. I have already lost $140 buying a rank from zephhyrs ( gonna try and claim my money back now... unauthorized is the only way.. any tips..? ) so I would pay $140 ( more or less depending on your reasoning) for a rank in the clan. And i guess to price the ranking just sell a % worth of gp worth to them? I don't know the best way really... but i'd like to buy a rank that i can contribute close to all my GP to it.. i have 200m to contribute. I also think verifying ranks ( if they appear untrusted) should be made with a phone call ( someone like me for example lol.. you can trust me tho :) ) ... but yea i really look forward to it and hope you decide to start one :)

I would even help advertise hardcore :)

If you can pull off what most experienced people nowadays have no faith or trust in (anything with the words 'merch and 'clan' in the same sentence), then you would definitely generate A LOT of interest, including mine :D

You've already got the fundamentals right, in that the owner/leaders/partners buy out all or 95% of the stock out there and then distribute it to the ranks so as any item leaks (which ALWAYS happen) will be negated due to you already owning most of of the stock.

I'd be willing to pay a decent amount for a decent rank in such a clan. You'd need to be very thorough and clear in your planning and execution, making sure all potential customers know exactly how and why their money would be well invested with you. You'd also need a decent handful of leaders/owners as well, unless you create some sort of scheme that rewards ranks for buying throughout the merch as well.

Oh and if you'd like any help, i'd be up for that as well ;)

a clan decides on an item, they buy out the item. then when they are satisfied that they have most of the stock they announce/distribute the item to its members. by buying a rank you are essentially buying into an exclusive private clan that will generate good profit.

Ok, i would do this no doubt, but when will we sell? A bit confused, when the merch is over do we just trade you back for the current price of it, and then you sell all of it?

I'm willing to spend a lot of money to make this work, if interested.

EDIT: Also, we pay you the current GP equivalent and 1$/1M, right?

First of all this is all hypothetical.

Secondly, I wouldnt buy anything back at the end. One requirement of buying a rank would be that you ARE ABLE TO JUNK TRADE your own stock after the merch.

Aren't there lots of these now?
I mean it's hard to get the public to your clan chat now a days or isn't it? Since clan chats get spammed around whole rs all the time.

Are you going to announce it to the public to dump or are you announcing the item to the public earlier?

There are hundreds most likely. The difference would be that I am not a complete fool and actually understand the essentials of buyouts. Having the public in the CC is just aesthetic, if it were simply me and the members who bought ranks in the CC, you would make just as much profit.

I'd be interested, although I - like many others - don't have the ability to easily get rid of my junk without paying junk buyers to take it. Perhaps you could create some way to allow people like me to sell our item back to you when it hits the desired price? Just throwing that out there >__>

Ya IF I do this, it will be extremely thorough, backed by very well known merchers in the community, and profitable.

    Not an issue : P

I could probably offer a junk buying service to the clan, however it would occur after I have dumped my own.

If this were to happen I already have a mod from here and an admin from powerbot who would be helping out with the website and clan chat bots, respectively : )
