Business Ideas

My friend recently started a company where he gets people to compete with app ideas, then licenses/creates the winner and tries to make a profit from that. Whilst working with him, I realised that the extent of ideas that we have (but never manage to create/come up with) is incredible.

Post here any business ideas (or specifically app ideas) that you believe to be genius, and you would create had you the resources ^_^

(or post them as ideas on the site linked in my sig, it's the said project...)

I don't know if this is an app already, but if not, I'd say an app that sends you a text whenever Netflix updates and with what. They never tell you when, and it's something you have to keep checking for.

 

I run an iOS Application Development business myself, however I'm just a one man army. its a good idea to recruit creative people i guess as their doing, but it just clearly shows the company does not have an imagination and is trying to profit from their knowledge of app development by exploiting creative people with successful ideas. $1500 is not much when apps can potentially make millions.

I guess I'm lucky I have the capability to do every aspect myself.

 

This looks real cool and I can see it doing well. Also just an idea but add a forum where people can discuss apps? I bet if people collaborated about different apps it'd lead to a lot more creativity and activity on the site. If I think of a cool app though ill be sure to submit it here

 

I spent quite a while learning Objective-C to become an App Developer as a second occupation, I've had a few business ideas of my own but never really got down a dirty with it. Will be interested to see the outcome of this topic.

 

Have you cleared all the legal aspects of this? Because if someone wins and the app comes out and goes viral someone is going to be pissed that they only got $1500 for their IP. Make sure you check with a lawyer that has a lot of IP training or specifically an IP lawyer. You have to make sure everything is air tight and not just some sort of fly by night thing.

Really? Well I don't actually run this service, I'm simply friends with one of the creators Check it out and contact them if you want though, they may be willing to hire people with experience and such.

You could always apply on their site too, I'm pretty sure that seeing as they're in their initial stages, it'd be far easier now than later to apply. I know a lot of funding is being put into this by them too, so if anything it has the recipe for success.

I don't personally work for them in any sense, though I'm pretty sure that they have - this isn't a business venture from home, they have a dedicated team and such and I'm quite sure at least one of them would have knowledge in jurisprudence or internet law, thanks though! ^_^

I didn't personally start it, though my friend did - it's going pretty well though, and the first prize is going to be announced after the voting (which starts in around a week!)

Wow cool idea dud. My app idea would be an app that you can text emergency services on instead of calling as you can't always speak. I am not. Sure if this is around yet but it would be a good idea as people can't always speak.

 

I had an Idea like this but thought that there where way to many people doing it. I think your mates going to become very successful from this considering in under a week you have 9,116 likes on facebook. Good luck =)
