Hi guys, lately I've become involved in a school business project. Basically we have to make a company within school, sell shares and sell our product.

What I need help with is thinking of a product to sell in school, this needs to be relatively cheap $5 or £3-4 max and a product that school pupils would be interested in buying.

Feel free to give reasonable ideas, don't spam with "ehh sell a ps3/xbox..." it can't work like that.

    Thanks :)

Example idea (things sold previous years):

    -wrist watch
    -toy ball

I did something similar to this in my business class. I didn't actually sell anything though, it was just planning. I did computers parts, so you could maybe do like memory sticks for peoples work. Headphones/earphones are always good, too. As there's always someone in my class looking for headphones so they can listen to their music :p

Great suggestion, I'm thinking along the lines of items that everyone can relate to. Everyone uses earphones/memory pens in their day to day life.

    Keep 'em coming.

You might have the world's best idea, if you can't sell it - it's worthless.

Don't spam on this thread please.

Go to DHgate.com and buy some cheap Chinese crap to sell in school. (Don't get me wrong, the quality of the products are great.) Your peers will buy it up like McDonald's.

Yes it is, and I didn't mean to sound rude before. Just don't like it when people go off topic etc. :)

Thank you for the suggestion, anything in items in particular?

Everyday school supplies like pens, erasers, and what not.

For example, cheap chinese fountain pens, like the ones by Baoer.
Don't let the "chinese" label fool you. Some of these brands are actually very good, and it feels like you're cutting butter when you write with them.

They're relatively cheap; you can get a very good one for around $10. Plus, shipping is usually free.

Now the merit of these fountain pens are that everybody knows that they're unique, and may have wanted to own one but did not, as they are usually very expensive.

In my opinion, my Baoer is just as good as any Parker that's in the $50~$100 price range.

If one person buys one, he will spread the word that these chinese pens are actually good.
And everybody will now finally have that fountain pen that they have wanted to own.

Problem is that many pupils don't bring in much more than £5 into school, selling a pen for £10 would be difficult.

Are you allowed to sell food? If so, try selling gum, suckers, phone cases(buy in bulk, most of the cost comes from shipping), ipod cases.
    Those are just a few.

Problem with phone cases is that many people don't have an Iphone or blackberries, we'd only be selling to a small percentage. As for food, not allowed.

It's a folder, unfortunately our school gives them out for free :(...

Buy 5 packs of gum for a total of like $3, wrap them in plastic, and sell them for like $8.

Or come up with some little knick nack like a bouncy ball tied to a string that goes around your finger.

Does your school have lots of soda machines?

Edit: If they do, but have bad/expensive drinks you can go out and buy cases off soda for $2-4 (whatever kind is popular), then resell them for $1 each.

Dum dums for a quarter, you can buy them for just over 3 cents each, 22 cent profit per sale. Kids love lollipops.

    This ^

My school only sells like pepsi and mountain dew for soda, but I always want like root beer or doctor pepper. It is very frustrating and I would definitely pay $1 for a can of one of those in school.
