BTC donations

Since Biitcoin is now a grown currency should we accept it on Sythe for donations?

I can possibly handle all BTC donations when needed.

I support it. I am not familiar with bit coins but people having another way to donate to sythe is always good.

i will support this. you should pm matthew. i am sure he will make you a bond holder for bitcoins

I PM'ed him 2-3 weeks ago about donation bond holding, he never replied to me.

 

Matthew has been inactive lately, it will take a while.

 

Since I use btc a lot I may be willing to do this. Depending on how it goes we would see.

I remember Sythe made a sticky 'BitCoin -- why you should accept it'. He made it over 2 years ago, I assume he's positive on this idea.

I think Sythe would say that BTC is his currency of choice for donations If you don't want to deal with the volatility of BitCoins, you can use a service called "BitPay". It will instantly convert the coins to fiat when you receive them. Easy to use API.

 

Tried to sign-up there, they rejected us because we're selling virtual goods, they don't support that due the anti money laundering policy .

I believe MTgox offered auto-selling / buying via an API too, currently looking into that.

If Staff is willing to let me handle donations all BTC's will be sold automatically after they've been send. On return page it's possible to show exact amount of $$$ it;s been sold for

Taking BTC and LTC as donations now

 

All you really need to do is PM Matthew and he'll toss you a bond and with that I believe you'll be able to handle donations by using BTC from your end and PayPal onto Sythe's end. Not sure if that's exactly what you meant but again I'd just PM Matthew. Name the title of the PM "Donations Bond Holder" and explain the BTC in the body.
