....but just so I don't get flagged with spam....yes. The restructure is a good idea. Although I have to agree with Sythe's comment that it is pretty dead. I used to browse it a couple years ago, but it really hasn't developed much. Maybe this restructure will draw more attention to it?

 

He already approved it, it's the fact that nobody has done anything in 3 days that my feedback thread is about.

And that's the worst: "You can do it, it's ready, but no one cares"..maybe not as blunt, but yeah.

It's more time consuming than you'd think to restructure a forum - Ryan if you're around when I get home from work I'll go through it with you

 

Here's why it's not hard/time consuming: Since there's only general and web(already existing), all you're doing is moving all the threads from 4 sections into Programming General, which is extremely easy, considering the number of threads on each is below 1000. Then after that, the 4 language specific sections can be deleted, and then you can edit the two sections' descriptions and change Programming General to General Programming. The stickies are language specific, so they can be unstickied/deleted and new stickies can be created by someone who actually knows programming on the staff team currently.

Anyway, when you guys do move it, can you remove all the useless stickies, and only keep like 2-3 in each section. Danke.

Aye aye. It's just a pain in the backside to have to move all the threads over to the correct sections. I'm still in phpbb mode (don't ever use phpbb, it sucks) so the vein on my temple pops out at the slightest thought of forum restructuring.

 

Forum restructuring is a PITA, if you don't know that, then your clueless.
