Is it because DA gets people to buy 07, lose their gp, buy gp again, and lose it again?

RIP. pretty sure its because there so many under age gambling addicts buying gp and losing it at duel arena.

 

This is potentially a big step in the right direction if the newer "engaging" content can be entertaining and eliminate easy access to gambling. Jagex should look out for the player base best interests and gambling isn't one of them.

There will likely be some alternative where you can still gamble. They will not want to lose that much membership. In terms of banning rwters, i'm sure there will be an increase in bans but probably not significant. Similar to how they 'ban bots'.

Yeah, that was my thought train. They haven't said anything about RS3 being removed.

 

They have on the RS3 subreddit (/r/runescape)

RS3 stakes are being limited to 50m rs3 (around 10m osrs give or take; 1:5 rate) at the same time and the arena is being removed in due case.
