Well atm im using my nans comp, because my one has had a complete and utter fuck up.
The dreaded blue screen...=|

It's got all this text saying something like, hardrive error remove and reinstall all virus protection bla bla blah

It must be taking the piss because if i could remove and reinstall the virus protection then my comp would be working! because at the moment it just stays on a blue screen and i can't do fuck all.

I have tried pressing f12 at the load up screen and i ran some tests,
But nothing has worked.

Please someone, help me out :'(

The disc you get with the computer that recovers your computer, put it in>>turn of your comp>>turn it back on and it will boot up the menu, then you just recover your computer from there. Else go with a full system restore.

can you not get to the desktop of the computer at all?

Ah, I had the same problem a few months ago. Your best bet would be to just Reformat and such, Get your windows xp disc and start from scratch.

No stop what your doing if you want to attempt to fix without loosing all your files. Turn off the computer press the button. When it starts TAP the f8 key then boot into safe mode and try doing what the screen says. Pm me for further help.

MAke a photo of that screen. Microsoft has all written on their site all blue screen errors, and it's possible to get solution there ;).

I have blue screen error sometimes on the start too, so i must restart pc. But then everything works fine... it's because of my stupid motherboard. I hate Asus P5N E-SLI

Before you go reformatting, go to best buy, and get a thing that makes an internal hardrive into an external one and back all your important files on to another computer.

This is simple, boot into safe mode. To get into safe mode just constantly press F8 after pressing the power button. When you get the boot options screen select safe mode and do a full system restore when you get to your desktop.

Full System Restore - Start>ALL PROGRAMS>Accessories>System tools>System restore.

that wouldnt help becouse its blue screen the whole time, i had this and i put in the recovery cds and it worked fine, good luck

Yeah it doesn't work running in safe mode i have tried (many times!)

1. How old is it

No idea, its a dell dimension 3000.

2. Did you boot it in safe mode?

Yeah, except when i run in safe mode nothing different happens.

Just straight back to blue screen of death again :(
So i can't get onto anything at all.

Try writing down the error and googling it. Most of the time there will be an error code in which you can lookup that will lead you straight to the source of the problem. Most likely you can simply go in to recovery console and just purge the corrupted file if there is one. You just need to have the original xp cd that came with the Dell. Good Luck.
