Blackhat rule update

We decided to be a bit more tolerant when it comes to offsite blackhat activities. In general, when a blackhat offence does not directly or indirectly affect Sythe and its users, we will not issue a ban. If we feel like you are a danger to the Sythe community, it is indirectly affecting Sythe and will still warrant a ban. The rules have been updated to include this change.

To clarify, our judgement on many blackhat cases will still be the same. What this basically means is that we don't autoban for minor offsite blackhat anymore while we previously did. There are no strict guidelines, there have never been strict guidelines. Nothing changed there. We will look at everything case-by-case and do what we think is appropriate.

If you have been banned for offsite blackhat activities and you feel like your ban was unjustified, we advise you to create a dispute.

 

Just saying, so does this constitute DDOS/Carding/Social engineering as not against the Sythe rules if it not affecting a Sythe user? For example social engineering/hacking non-Sythe members?

Cool, so now I can go do whatever the hell I want (besides scamming) so long as it isn't targeted at Sythe? Great logic.

Now that doesn't really make sense does it? If you're giving the green light for black hat activities, obviously anyone who DDos's/Hacks accounts will be perceived as a danger to the community. There is no safety net and that leads to the possibility of a blackhat being banned randomly because a staff member deemed you to be dangerous?

 

I understand you guys don't condone black hat but if someone were to report a Sythe member for hacking Runescape accounts (Offsite) or maybe carding/DDOS would that warrant a ban?

Well black hat activities like DDoSing or social engineering offsite isn't really a case by case biases, it's the same throughout. Do those activities denote a member to be dangerous?

 

We are more tolerant now on offsite blackhat when it's not affecting Sythe than we were before. I am not giving you green light to start blackhat activities. I advice you to steer clear of blackhat activities.

 

I'm just going to state that if you guys don't rule what is distinguished to make a Sythe user to be deemed dangerous, things will get messy.

 

Depends on the severity, it's all case by case.

 

Alright then I will give you this hypothetical situation and I would like to get a grasp on your outlook.

Sythe user is a social engineer and participates in off-site black hat activities. He makes a thread with all his "Loot pics" of all the victims he hacked on Runescape.

Would this indicate the Sythe user as "dangerous" or a "threat"?

 

That would result in a ban because that user would obviously be a danger to the community as it is directly related to our activities on Sythe. I do not comment on any other individual cases. I've been clear enough in my posts.

 

Awful way to implement this. I agree with the principle but when people ask specifics, don't just say "it's a case by case basis." Give some sort of guidelines rather than "if we feel you're a threat"...

 

Just remember everyone dnt is for our protection, so is not just keeping people banned that sre blackhatters. All for safety.

 

DNT'ing a black hat doesn't mean your safe.
