If you think that was good get a load of this. I was recovering an account about an hour after i received an email saying: Dear Runescape player,

This is an automated message generated by Jagex LTD support team to notify you about that you have to verify that you are the real account owner.
In order to verify your account, simply log in and verify your membership.

This i received while waiting for an email about the recovery so i was convinced it was Jagex, however the layout seemed abit strange and then i noticed the Rs login Http was diffrent to the email one. I then replied to him saying 'Sly C**t' and then received an actual email from Rs saying that it was a Phisher.

 

if he got my account, i got it back...but did he puta keylogger on my coumputer? please message me via pm! please mates!

 

I recieved about three of those emails so far, someone must have gained access to peoples emails.

 

I think the best thing to do is to use two different emails, i use my main personal one for my scape accounts, then a different one for anything else scape related, such as sythe.

Therefore, if jagex did email me, it would be to my personal one, not the one i use on sythe.

 

some of the phishing mails get send to any email adress that can be found on the internet, not just on sythe

I'm getting 5-10phishing mails per day now :s

 

Happened to me from [email protected]...
Lost 30m off my def staker and about 90m off my pure...
I fail because I tried checking both accounts to see what was wrong.. lol.

Wow phishers are getting really good.

 

Jagex said they'll never send you an email. Thats the easy way to know that all emails are phishers hahah.

Removing your email from Sythe I have found is the best solution to end receiving these phishing emails. Ever since I removed mine from my signature/avatar bar, I haven't received a single one.

I only give my sythe email out now via pm to people that are trusted.
