Exactly.. Let him go and just make him pay back what he stole. He OBVIOUSLY knows how to make money if he was already incredibly wealthy before he stole the money..

I'm not trying to be the one who states blatant information without stating reasoning, but if you don't agree with this sentence you're morally/intellectually impaired.

It would have been great if they just released him from all the charges, he'd be dead within an hour :laugh:

From his actions relayed much death. About 2-5 people committed suicide because he literally ruined their lives. In some peoples opinions they would rather die than lose everything they've earned and worked their lives for.

 

Thats their fault for killing themselves. Money can be easily obtained again. He didn't personally kill anyone, therefor he is no worse than a murderer who would of only got half the sentence.

 

150 years in a jail.... its a joke , people getting in my country(poland) 25 years with possible of parole and they are heavily murders.... everything makes non-sense , same goes for death sentence.

 

It would be pointless if he was the only one ever to have these ideas, but since he isn't and wont be, it's a good thing he is going to jail for so long. He will be an example to others, and it should reduce this from happening.

 

So money is worth more than a man's life. It's not like he ruined the lives of rich people anyway. They still have enough money left to live as a normal person in society.

 

This is exactly what some economists suggested - they saw that he was a smart man, they could have him work at a job that pays 6-7 figures and he would help repay the people he scammed. Why though? He was behind the biggest ponzi scheme in history, ponzi schemes are illegal, and he stole. The reason why he was given the maximum sentence is because of the severity. I mean, the guy stole $13B+ and you don't think he should have gotten 150 years? This would be equivalent to me scamming 13B gold on Sythe then admitting to it and not getting banned. If I was scammed by him I would rather see him rot in a medium security prison than to see him forced to pay me back. I would probably make more working than receiving money from him.

Yes he did, he stole peoples' investments. Many of their lives were turned around, and YES, some of those are now living off of food stamps. How would you like it if he scammed your family of their life savings? Would you still say money is worth more than a man's life? Saying "money is worth more than a man's life" isn't even justifiable here, the fact is, he's an evil, deceiving scammer. The reason people feel sympathy for him is because he's a white-colored businessman who seems like a nice guy.

 

Perhaps he'd be a good example to others, yes. Regardless, it's still a waste of resources to imprison him, and his victims get no restitution. How is that justice?

No I don't think he should have gotten 150 years. He is a threat to nobody, he is an old man.
I'd rather see him do community service, or be forced to work to pay his investors back.
Putting him in jail just wastes taxpayer money.

And I would rather see him work to pay back is debt. Again, if you look rationally rather than emotionally, there is no need to imprison him.

 

Meh well, I can see where you're coming from, but still using an example that we are able to relate to - what happens if someone on Sythe admitted to scamming 13B+ from about a thousand of its members? Wouldn't he be banned without a doubt?
