Basic question: why has OSRS $/m fallen so sharply?

Sorry this is probably a redundant question, but one that I could not find answers to searching anywhere. Would anyone fill me in as to why OSRS gp has dropped from $1/m to say $0.65/m in the past few months? Been gone awhile and want to get back into it.

 

well i believe it is because of a bug/glitch on rs3 which allowed items to be duped and that brought alot more money to rs3 (its less than 11 cents per mil) which in consequence also came to osrs through money swaping

thats what i think happened

 

Game is dying maybe

 

since covid /quantine situation it went skyrocket to 0.70 but after that slowly down cause some countries started working/schools ect again

 

Twitch prime bots, covid, large influx of buyers and sellers.

 

Lot more people playing due to covid as well

 

As Wister stated, it’s because of the glitch in RS3. People discovered the dupe and would swap their RS3 to OSRS. Then of course the dupe was made public and yea.

 

I think the prices went up due to covid and are now going back down as the situation eases
