    Baseball vs. Soccer

    1. KIDDING ME? LOL'D

    2. Are you kidding me? Running 20 feet from base to base - tough.

    3. Have you watched a game in your life? And at least they DO WORK rather than standing around all day and barley breaking a sweat.

I'd rather see constant running on the field than pitch....strike...pitch...hit...pitch...strike...pitch...strike...pitch...ball

    Really baseball not a sport?
Have you ever played baseball before? It is harder to play that soccer is.
I'm not saying soccer isnt hard to play, and soccer players are in better shape normally than baseball players, but baseball is harder to play than soccer.

We're talking about professional leagues here are we not? Not little rec teams.

Keep up with the soccer players out there
Guard your goal against people running at you and kicking the ball all over the field.
Block the goal from a ball flying at you... with your hands rather than a bat.

Soccer takes much more training and endurance than baseball and most if not all sports out there. Soccer players are beast and in the top condition of anyone - capital M E N

Have you ever tried to hit a 95 mph fastball?
Baseball players also train a lot, and a majority of them are in very good shape.
I wasnt saying soccer players arent in good shape, or dont train hard. They also act like they get hit by a bus on little tackles.

I don't think you can say one sport is better than the other, it's opinion based. I watched a baseball game while I was visiting the U.S. and I left halfway through the game. I guess you really have to understand the game to appreciate it. I grew up playing soccer which is probably why watching soccer appeals to me more.

And just to stop the arguing, Both soccer and baseball players are in good shape. Soccer players have better stamina while baseball players usually have more power. And yes, a lot of baseball players are on the heavy side, but have you seen those guys run bases? They are pretty quick for big guys.

any fat guy can run, if i remember correctly in a superbowl 2 years ago a lineman intercepted a pass and he was running for his life lmao. after he basically had a heart attack and was a life support system to help him breathe, pathetic. hitting a 95mph baseball isn't even that hard lol..obv don't know much about baseball if you think that's the hard part about hitting the ball. trolls..

Ok, if any fat guy can run, and that's what soccer players do most of the time (actually jog), any fat guy can play soccer?

That is a good point you make. A lot of people watch one game and dont like it, but you do need to understand the game to really aprecciate it.
You are obviously an idiot if you think hitting a 95 mph fastball is easy. And you dont know much about baseball either apparently.

If a ball makes contact in soccer you don't get aneurysm, I wouldn't say the same thing about baseball.

If you lit a flame in a baseball stadium people would complain.

"Soccer" can be enjoyed everywhere with some free space.

"Soccer" is the biggest sport on earth.

    Orly?
Take David Beckham for an example.

In Baseball they walk to the mound.

In baseball they even eat during the game, understandable since it's mostly known in America.
    -
Baseball games can last up to 5 hours.
    -
    Pichcounts? wtf
    -

    This should be like;
    Cricket < Baseball

    Thanks to third world countries.
He workouts because he's a celebrity and enjoys being one, not to improve his game.

    They sure do.

They don't "eat" They dip, chew gum, and spit seeds.

Good thing we didn't waste those 5 hours with the game ending in a draw.

    Pitch counts*

    Agreed.

    Who cares?

    A few of thousands.

If you even remotely knew anything about Baseball you'd know there is no stretching going on.

    .....And?

    How so?

    That's cool.

With the excitement and suspense knowing that it can't possibly end in a draw.

Why don't you state a couple more pointless facts for us.

"Soccer" players can play during rain and snow.

That's cool, ofcourse I could stay excited forever.

    Done.

You don't need a set time to do any of those things, it just gives fans a time to go to the bathroom, get more food and drinks.

But they can't play through a tap on the shoulder.

Believe it or not, pitching a wet ball is not an easy task, and will most likely be wild every other time you throw it.

If only a game lasted forever.

Believe it or not kicking a ball (X4 size of a baseball) in a wet area is not an easy task.

I'd rather watch a 90 minute long game with ups and downs, than watch a 5 hour long game.

@pure, you just added to the fact that not every player gets involved in baseball and couldn't even provide a good explanation. I'll look over this thread later since I'm on my iPod.

Diving has become a part of the game, just as shooting and passing is.

    I don't doubt it.

In baseball you can't hit the ball unless the opposing team can get the ball to you.

And baseball doesn't have ups or downs? We just have a guaranteed outcome at the end of the game.

No, I added to the fact it was a pointless comment that shows no significance whatsoever. If you're tired of not playing, then maybe you should bust your ass off in practice and in the weight room to get playing time. This isn't church league basketball where the only thing that matters is everyone gets to play.

You can reply back later, but opinions cannot be countered, this thread is more of a place to rage at one another and talk shit about another sport. It's nothing but opinion going back and forth.

Why would someone light a fire in a stadium? You're saying soccer fans are just gonna sit there and let the fire spread, besides complaining?

Players don't really stretch in the 7th inning, they stand up, sing the national anthem, and then go back on the field. I heard Wikipedia is a really good source.
