Auction

No support, the idea alone has too many flaws. I don't want to see the site turned into an auction site either.

 

Such as? Sythe also suggested an auction BBCODE making so that if the user wants to set an auction they can if not they can list regularly.

I think that a bbcode auction system would be a good start. Maybe if it gets used a lot it could be developed more in the future(possibly with bitcoin escrow like I said).

 

yeah i think the BBCODE would be the best bet for now. I'm assuming it would take less time to make.

 

No support. Fake bids, withdrawal of items and the way it's hard to implement without a proper sythe currency (we would have to accept direct PP from newcomers etc, fuck that).

 

i don't think it would be that hard to deter people from making fake bids and they would be pretty obvious. And the Sythe wallet is almost done i believe so that can be used as opposed to PP.

No support from me, i see this causing alot of problems and tbh people can just make a thread and have people post there bids on there, on a site like sythe some times people dont want to take the highest bidder, lets say i was buying gold i would much rater pay 2.6 to a admin or trusted member then 2.4 to a person with 1 post who will more then likely try and scam me.

well, there are problems... but the market as it sits works. but why not add to it. attract more people. Make it easier, larger, better.

 

Granted there are perhaps areas where the current system can be improved, but compared to an auction system, I personally prefer the current way.

Bidding in BTC ect? I think that's just going to complicate things more, even if it is more secure. TBH is it safe for us all to save BTC in Sythe's server, could they be compromised?

 

we can bid in usd or whatever and just convert it to whatever payment you want, but the BTC would be like the go to currency.

 

If a code can be written for it that would be awesome, maybe something like a 'Current bid' placed in the original op, and anytime someone makes a bid and its accepted, the op can update the price, if their is an even more dynamic way of doing it that would be cool but i think cause sythe is a forum you could just type [Auction] in the title of your sales thread and pretty much do a 'highest bid' and get people to bid bellow...

It's a nice idea and it would make it easier for users to sell accounts in a hurry for example. However, as someone suggested, mods would have a hard to regulating the system and enforcing a commitment to buy rule.

 

Isn't this site like an auction anyway, people post offers and if anyone is interested they will outbid, or am I on another planet?

 

Yeah that's true but once they bidded they would probably be locked in. It would be more like eBay I suppose.
