Do you feel that doctors should be able to assist patients should they decide they would like to end their lives?
I don't see how this is relevant, people do many things on impulse, should we ban the purchase of cars because they can be made on a 'split second' decision? A better question to ask is, are you against someone shooting themselves in the head because they are in immense pain (burning alive).I am against euthanasia, because when a person decides to take his own life, it can be a split second in which he decides this.
Doctors will not kill the patient within seconds/minutes of them requesting to be killed. Your right, it's not my call to decide whether or not someone should die, it's their call, so how about we respect their rights and see to it that they be upheld. If a doctor would act on this fast decision he might kill someone who could have had a great life ahead of him. It's not our call to decide whether someone should die or not, and NO I do NOT believe in god whatsoever.
What constitutes as 'right' and 'wrong' constantly change, everyone has their different take on it. Just because you can't be absolutely certain that x is the best/right choice, doesn't mean you should take it. Just because you can't decide which University to apply to, doesn't mean the default is not to apply to any of them. You can never be sure whether it is the right choice to take someone's life. I personally am also against the death penalty, how bad the crime may be, you are taking someone's life.
This shouldn't be an issue whatsoever. If both the patient, and the doctor have a consensual understanding, so be it.
Your moral values should not effect my choices
Have you ever given a thought to the ethical and moral values of this topic?
Sorry, I should've been more straightforward.Yes, i have. Why?
What type of morals or ethics does it severely, or otherwise breach?Sorry, I should've been more straightforward.
What I meant to say was that if certain problems (moral and ethical in this case) exist because of it, then it is an issue.
What type of morals or ethics does it severely, or otherwise breach?
