Are You Addicted to Runescape?

No haven't been for like 3 years, rarely play these days but was at one point addicted.

 

I always come back to it and enjoy it thoroughly. I take it for what it is and try not to make it more serious than it is. After a long day of work the last thing I want to do is act like I am working again.

 

I play r00nscape.

 

I would sadly call myself addicted as its all I look forward all day at school its all I do on the weekend. Sadly the last time I went out with friends was over 6 months ago even then all I could think about was runescape. So yes I would consider myself addicted to runescape.

 

I was addicted at one point, but now I've pretty much finished all my goals. So these days, I just play with friends and chill out pretty much.

What I'm talking about is people being in exhibit A and wanting to get to B and not be stressed over doing X to do Y to finally do the original goal of Z.

 

I read that and agreed in a lot of ways. I was a legit player for a very long time. Grinding away the hours with some of my IRL friends but completely enjoying it because we would hang out and play.

Then eventually I started stumbling upon botting and I thought that was perfect. I could still level, and have more of a social life. So I would turn the bot on in the morning, and off to work I went. I was working 10-12 hr days back then. I would set the bot to turn off after "x" amount of time then back on after "x" amount. I enjoyed that a lot, I could level junk accounts, and pures with out needing to really put my time in. So when I did want to play I still "progressed" when I didn't and enjoyed it A LOT more when I did play legit.

Then I maxed out my main, got into staking. At this point I still had only botted, nothing beyond that. After my first time getting cleaned, I learned I could by RSGP. I was like, sweet that works for me. So every now and then I throw some cash into the game because the way I see it is I can spend $60+ on a XBox/PS3/PC ect game that will last me what, 100-300hrs of game play tops then I'm tired of it and chances are once I put it down, its down or I can throw some money into RS now and then for the $60+ per year it costs me to be a member and always find a new adventure, and goals.

To get back on topic, I am addicted, but not in the idea that I take an irresponsible approach to the game. I have all my IRL responsibilities in order, I go out have fun, work my but off, and hit the gym daily. RS is a hobby for me, a hobby I very much enjoy. Hobbies are something your supposed to be addicted to in a responsible sense of the word.

To much of anything is bad, even if you enjoy it. That's my point of view.

 

I wish when i was little that my cousins had never shown me runescape but in some way i was happy that they did... I was addicted in like 2005-2006, and yes i was in that phase where i would choose the game over friends and such but that only lasted like a year and then i choose friends over the game, like i would be out with friends all day and when i would come home i would be wayyy to tired to play rs at that point and then i just lost interest in the game and now i just came back after quitting for over 3 years.

 

So today, long story short I was going from 7:30 AM to 1:30 PM which involved very important things and a lot of social interactions.

I just woke up, saw that it was raining outside and I immediately felt the need to do something on Runescape.

Anybody else feel that way sometimes? Its like you are "hungry" in a way but all you eat is junk?I dont know what I'm trying to say - can somebody relate?

 

I don't really know, I see it more as a hobby.
When I get home from school, I look forward to RS.
But also every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday I look forward to MMA Training if I get home.
I don't think that means I'm addicted to Training.
Every saturday I play soccer with friends.
And every Wednesday I watch a movie with friends.
I think I'm not addicted. I'm mainly playing RS for the $$$'s.

 

^ Yeah, you dont strike me as somebody who is what I'm talking about.

What I'm talking about is getting multiple 99's just to not feel the need to train those stats anymore, aka what I feel now.

 

I would say I am somewhat addicted, but i have an addictive personality so I get addicted to a lot of stuff.

 

I only play it for fun, I don't spend IRL Money to buy RSGP money.

 

I'm not addicted but i play it to kill time.
