Are Humans Naturally Evil?

I think whether a persons actions are good or evil are determined by the environment around them and the people influencing them. Unfortunately, in the media and irl there are more bad then good influences.

The OP hasn't even commented back in three pages so I think he is done and I dont think people are born evil...a new born does not even have the concept of what we define a good or evil. It just wants to live. I don't understand how people think we are born evil? Greed and evil are not the same thing so that argument is out. We are animals we do what is NATURAL to us. We eat,sleep,reproduce and protect our self and family. As a child growing up I'm sure I was like fuck everyone else but me. I wanna kill everyone who pisses me off. What evil acts are you saying everyone consist of?

Actions of a toddler...well first you say may, which indicates that whatever your are about to say could or might happen not that it will every time.
So a toddler MAY resort to violence to get something. What are you considering violent? Babies and toddlers cry because they do not know how to communicate any other way. A baby shits themselves I'm sure they are uncomfortable so they cry to get help and they get changed and stop crying. That isn't evil? Same thing when they are hungry.

 

No, we are not. It is called we have a sin nature and have free will. Some people choose to abuse that freewill and do some terrible things, yet others choose to love and cherish.

As I stated before please learn to read, also your argument is based on God, which isn't proven or disprove entirely so again that isn't a valid source to use in your argument. You are assuming he believes in God and the same "God" as you.

He is asking if the way of life is naturally evil, and he is saying that if it is then God would be evil as he created us. So yes I did answer his first question as it was all connect. Now if you take the part about go out then here would be the answer.

How can life be evil anyway? If you strip life down to its basics then there is nothing evil. Hunting/gathering for food, collecting resources to build a shelter to sustain life. Humans (animals) NATURAL want to live. They eat,sleep and reproduce. This is the natural instinct.

 

Humans are naturally evil, look at all the past historical figure that have been evil, about 90% of the world lol < always wars going on, fights and murders etc over everything, even in the catholic church they used to murder people etc all the time for no reason.

 

Must be your drunk mind speaking as well when you say animals aren't a valid arguement. They do what they have to to survive, just as humans. Yes, we are the superior race, but animals can be TAUGHT to know good from bad as well, just not to the extent we can. This ties in with infants not knowing right from wrong, in a sense. Animals can learn what's good and what's bad. Example: Teaching your pet to be accepting of people, and not biting them because they feel threatened by nature.

No, I don't believe humans are born naturally evil. They are born unknowing, and at times they may do things that are not socially acceptable by todays standards but that doesn't make them evil. We are influenced by the way we are raised. This isn't always the case. Some peope that were raised perfectly well still do terrible things. Whether evil or not, it's up to the person. Society makes up the rules of what is acceptable or not. As stated earlier, we learn though trial-and-error so what we believe to be 'evil' and 'good' now could very well change within the next few hundred years.

 

Perhaps the evil ones are prone to take power when it is presented.

 

Actions of a toddler isn't counted, cause they're minds are still young. They dont know whats right and wrong yet. But when a grown up doing bad deeds, you're evil.

You can't base any assertions of "evil" in later life off of what a baby does. Morals are learned as one grows up.

 

All humans are selfish... If that is considered evil? Self preservation is a basic instinct and leads to greed and selfish behaviour.

Majority of these kind of people aren't raised to be evil but are evil because there were no parental figures in their life to raise them by what society defines as correct and moral. I think that if no one taught them to be the way that they are then maybe we are born with a naturally evil root
