I bought MineCraft just now and I just rage quited I don't know how to do anything.

Yes, if you want to create a big city your going to have to be dedicated to it. Its not an easy task at all. Most people do it in creative mode (unlimited resources and a flying ability), or with the help of mods, but there are a few people who use materials gathered by hand.

 

What Are Texture packs I see many people using them what do they do?

 

They are mods that change what the blocks, monsters, and materials look like. Ill find you an example...

I personally don't like to use them because you have to learn what all the new blocks are, and it can be pretty confusing.
