It's not enough, because all announcements are bolded and displayed as shown by yourself, so eventually you just get used to 'that bolded bit at the top of your screen' and might not realise the change. I've missed a few announcements myself. The "pop ups" would only be for major announcements such as hackings (Amlyle's for example) or security information (SwiftKit incident for example) and could potentially prevent some scams or hackings here or there which in turn would prevent Sythe scams/hackings.

It wouldn't take up much time to click out of the pop up. When you dismiss a PM it literally takes 2 seconds, and at least you then know it's there, you can check it when you feel like it, if you choose to check it at all. A disable option for a one second click isn't really necessary/not a problem in the first place.

A hacking traditionally doesn't affect a lot of people as those who do business with the user see the user's banned/threads locked. A promotion is just a promotion. The most people contribute is a congratulations.

Maybe we could provide a larger link at the top of the forum/alter the title for more serious issues. ie large gold resets, etc. That's definitely a possibility.

Yes sir. This still looms around my point. All I am trying to say is it may be a better choice to make the announcements stand out more and be more visible.

That's a good idea - I don't, personally, think there're enough important announcements (not saying that mod promotions aren't important announcements, just not crucial) however if a big issue came up, then, sure, why not? A banner or something linking you to read it wouldn't be too hard, would it?

I don't believe I've seen many promotions mentioned in announcements before. Generally it is only used to display urgent information, such as the Dutch Bank hackings, Amyle (A Sythe external Donator plus highly regarded market member) being hacked, that sort of thing. Basically, something needs to be done to make these things be seen by everyone.
