Yea if i were ever going to do it i would for sure use teamviewer, also if it gets removed you have lost your payment anyway, then i would rather pay 25% more the first time to be assured i wouldnt lose it

Don't use VPN/Proxies... either you buy an infernal cape service and go with teamviewer or you can forget about it.

I don't think they banned people perm, it was more 2 day and 2 week bans. Anyone that obviously had it done on a VPN, proxy or different IP had it removed as they thought Jagex wasn't watching that stuff anymore.

Give it a few years and when everyone has them Jagex won't have the time to monitor that stuff.

I wonder if it's only people that used VPN or Proxy, I mean how can they possible detect the use of teamviewer, the only way I see they can remove those is just by looking at it case per case and determine if someone was actually capable of getting an infernal cape or not.

I think if the person buying has tried themselves do to the inferno, i dont know if they can see the difference in the play-style and ban people based on that? specially if they start flicking prayer etc on the try they get the cape and not on the ones prior?

This is what they do. Most people don’t one shot inferno. The chances they ban someone who legit OTKd it are so slim.

 

Friend gave me the link to this thread and I just felt I had to reply. I bought an infernal cape back in july, not to boast or brag, but to have bis. I like to play for exp so much that I feel practicing inferno is just a big waste of time. So yes, I bought one. My seller used a VPN (stupid I know, but I'll get into this more later) and I paid 350m to get it done with an ACB. It took him two attempts but after a wait of about 5-6 hours I had the cape lol. I pretty much hid it in my bank to only do nmz with it for 3 months, and then I got banned for it.

Now before anybody judges me or burns me down, I do admit my mistake and of course I regret it, because for me it came at the worst time as I was really close to a 200m skill, racing a friend whom I had beaten and who was right behind me. He ofcourse caught up and got 200m before me, which stung a little. I also lost all credibility with all friends, I lost my clan, lost friendships I had built over the years. But that's karma I guess. I accept this, and also the two week ban, as I knew this was the punishment. I can only move on from this.

Also to clarify, I am not 'blocked' from the inferno and can attempt it again (myself). The ban also stated that should I buy another cape, I will be banned for three weeks. No further information about being blocked from it or anything like this was given, so I see all these statements about it as nothing but rumours.

I will say this, the way jagex handles these bans are quite harsh. I mean, the punishment was a two week ban and the cape removed. I knew this before I bought it and if it ever came to a ban, I was prepared to take this punishment. But what I don't like about all this is that first of all they take two weeks of membership from me (which is basically stealing 5.50$ right?) and the fact that I had the cape when I logged back in. Of course as some people stated on this thread, it got removed shortly after. I tried to safekeep it at zulrah deathbox (naïve), tried to collect it 2 hours later and it was gone. Why was it even there in the first place? Only to troll me?

I love runescape and will proceed to play, I plan on getting infernal cape myself as I do see myself skilled enough to do this so I appreciate me not being blocked from the inferno lol. I just hope I don't get trolled even further and recieve a fire cape or something for completing it LOL.

One more thing, I don't think the whole vpn thing was the thing that got me banned. I think even with teamviewer jagex are not stupid enough to fall for it. They check every single cape in the game, and there are just a couple of simple red flags that make buyers stand out. Let's say you log in with a teamviewer setup. Start changing all f keys, get on fixed mode (whilst you never played on fixed) and get inferno in 1-2 attempts. This is a massive red flag. I mean sure there are good pvmers out there, but they also need a couple attempts to get the cape and they usually dont change their entire playstyle to get it.


TLR: I regret my mistake but I can only move forward from this. I also think it's pretty hard to buy a cape and get away with it. Sure it happens, but the red flags are EASY to detect and maybe you just need a bit of luck to slip under their radar.

Maldesto is right. VPN capes almost always equate to a ban. TV or proxy your ip.

I highly suggest throwing some half ass attempts in. Team viewer or not (with the same invi you’d use to purchase cape).

(You can also tether your phone to your WiFi then use a gpx file to fake the location to your customers loc. This way it looks like a shitty vpn)

What don’t you people understand about the VPN being very obvious and the exact red flag they’re looking for. Even with botting or anything else. VPN literally just makes it look like you have something to hide.

Either find someone irl that can do it, and fake a few failed attempts while doing it, or try team viewer. But again, if you can’t successfully do zulrah (not paying someone to also do that, they’re not gonna ban you for having someone else do zulrah for you, but they will most definitely know) it’s painfully obvious that you cannot do the inferno.

They’re allowed to ban you for any reason, even if it’s just a good feeling you didn’t get your own infernal cape. They don’t just do this willy nilly because they’re a business focused on not losing customers for banning anybody for no reason. But if there’s somebody on a VPN, that already looks like they’re hiding something, then they go do the inferno after having issues with extremely easy bosses??? It’s not a clever trick or anything, and the capers know this.
