Analogy behind roll-backs
There is reason to believe that your stats get rolled back if the macro is at fault. In other words, if your macro screws up and becomes dysfunctional causing movements that a human would not use. There is a good chance that your stats will become rolled back due to non-human like game play.

To back up my claim, I read on the forums that roll backs are to to the "developers, macro faulty-DUD". Consequently I have reason to believe that when the scripts mess up, you have a greater chance of being rolling-back. Not because you got caught macroing, frequent updates, cause the bots to become dysfunctional.

Also I noticed while baby sitting my macro that during an update the screen had green, yellow & red pixel squares all across the map before the update, during the countdown.

In simple terms - Dysfunctional bots, updates are causing roll-backs.
I'll keep this thread in mind next time there is an update while Im botting to explain my theory better. This an opinion. This is Jagex full-proof way of catching onto botters.

OFF TOPIC - SOUL WARS bots keep the game functional.

Seems very logical, but nobody knows for sure....I wish we knew a solid solution to why all this is happening....

Are you suggesting I should stop botting in the night, and only in the day where I can keep an eye on my bots?

Scipts messing up should get you banned, not rolled back.

I don't agree.

Both 'punishments' make sense. Hopefully their motives for stat resetting will come to light soon, but for now I suppose we must continue to guess

Though a stat reset could be considered a punishment, I don't believe it's a punishment willfully given to players caught macroing by Jagex.

I don't think Jagex would be stupid enough to reset peoples hp to, say, 5 or reset 99 stats of theirs while allowing them to keep capes worn etc...
Jagex would have found a more elegant solution, even being the ignorant fools they sometimes are.

I think stat resets are a bug that does have something to do with macroing, though I'm not sure what.

A very, very strange bug at that.. Although if it is a bug linked with macroing, it makes sense that they want people to report it so they can ban them. Perhaps it was an unintentional bug, but they are not fixing it as they can benefit from it (it highlights the macroers).

True, though I would argue that they have been able to change how the bug functions.

If you think about how people used to have their stats reset to a random number under 10 most of the time, and compare it to the manner with which almost all resets I see today are to level 10, it gets me thinking whether Jagex changed the reset base to 10 somehow.

I think after a couple of accounts were reset to <10 hp, Jagex realized the gravity of the bug and hence sought to limit its effects.

It makes sense. I saw a picture of someone who had been reset to 9hp by this 'bug'. I'm guessing this happened to quite a few people, so Jagex took it upon themselves to modify the 'bug' to continue occurring, but resetting stats to 10 rather than a (random?) number.

I really do hope this backfires and something else happens that causes this bug to become a bigger problem, maybe having the opposite effect (raising stats?) or something along those lines. That will teach them
