Allow Referrals or Add a section.

Seems like a good idea to me. All these complaints about phishing links..really?

 

Both referral and non-referral links clearly laid out (possibly without hyperlink).

Would have my support.

 

Ideally the section would be titled something like Referrals, Shopping Deals and promotions

Then 3 separate boards for each one of the 3.

That is up for debate but that's how I can see it happening.

I am for this. There are some really good websites out there, and some are only beneficial if you've been referred (like get x$ free if you've been referred).

BUT: lets make PTC sites illegal, those are just junk.

 

I think a subsection on deals with or without referral links would be a very welcome addition. If done properly this could even result in companies providing discounts specifically for sythe users

 

Would also deal with the issue of people giving sythe users discounts for vouches and stuff on swapping sites, people could just get vouches on their refferal/deals thread.


OR people will give "likes" on the thread with xen coming.


It's really a win-win-win for everyone tbh, deals,shopping deals, referrals, I see no issues with any.

Sounds perfectly reasonable to me, hopefully they will consider creating now but I think if they do decide to make it, it'll be pushed back to after Xenforo is implemented

 

Support with the correct spam methods in place.

It doesn't really require xen, its just a rule removal and a new section so I'm not sure why this hasent been approved and done, its sat here forever.

 

I sent specifics to sythe regarding this, he said he's in favor of the majority of the suggestion, I asked him if he disagrees with anything specific I sent him.


Sounds like this will be getting approved and added soonish though.

 

I'll support if the subsection doesn't involve post count and is oriented around saving both the referrer and referee money.

 

This is what I proposed to sythe and he just approved(said it seems reasonable)(with 1 suggestion @ the bottom):

Let me propose specifics to you, if you approve I don't see why the section cant be added immediately(unless theres a tech issue), if you disapprove of something, let me know what.

Section name: Shopping Deals, Promotions & Referrals

Location: Other Markets, above xbox/ps sales

(Seems the best fit since it kind of is involving several diff markets in one, other markets seem to suite it).


Section Rules:

Shopping Deals:
-Shopping deals of any type not involving blackhat/greyhat sites are allowed
-No Reposting already posted/old shopping deals
-No deals which involve fraud

Promotions:
-1 thread promotion per site/user
-Must not include greyhat/blackhat related sites

Referral:
-No rats(obviously)
-All Ref links must be combined under 1 ref thread for each user, meaning a user has 1 general thread for his links, not 5 diff threads each containing 1 link
-no blackhat/greyhat sites


Thoughts?



Sythes Suggestion add on: I'd add a recommendation with the rules to say users should post on threads they got an actual deal from to say thanks.



This will all be public information soon obviously so its worth asking the community.

P.s- I also sent him a PM asking for his opinion on postcount in the section and if he will allow vouches for shopping deals and stuff, will update this when his response comes.

 

No support on shopping vouches, no support on post count. People will just say "thanks" for post count.

A thanks when a person used it would be cool, would bump the most used coupons foo the top.

 

This is a pretty cool idea, I would like to see it implemented.

 

Support, threads like Stashz: Revolutionary Marketplace is here! need a proper place. Also, I wouldn't support there being post-count in said section.
