    AFK ways to train NMZ

Hey, I'm wondering something as I don't play 07 that much.

Let's say an account has all the 5 MTD NMZ quests completed (which seems standard nowedays) which way of training would be the most afk one?

    Some methods I know

    - Guthans: VERY slow xp but only 1 click every 20 minutes is required (can boost xp/hr up with overloads but more clicks required)
    - Full bandos: Pretty much good xp overall, you wouldn't be using rock cake but by sipping 1K worth of absorb pots when you start, you're good for around 15 minutes. (can boost xp/hr up with overloads but more clicks required)
    - Dharoking: Fastest way I know, very intense; rapid heal every 50 secs to stay on 1 hp, uses absorb pots & overloads
    - Prayer gear/sarasword: Most expensive, I'd say click every 2-3 minutes (50m ish on PPots) decent XP/HR (can use overloads to boost xp/hr up)

Those are all the methods I currently know, are there other options? Maybe different gear but less clicks and still good xp?

    Let me know, thanks!

There really are no other options. Also, Abyssal bludgeon > Sara sword for str training.

Hey bro! I am actually doing NMZ Guthans now and have been loving it! Um I find it very useful and pretty much the only way I can max melee with my busy adult life these days, like many of us. However I also have full bandos with bandos gwd. So I see on your list of methods Bandos is like 15 min afk and but better xp. With me drinking over loads a lot as it is, I think I should consider switching to bandos. I'll let you know how it goes!
Great thread, I cant wait to see others input.

Oh wanted to add around 75 att def and str you can do mtn normal mode. Stick to this one

Abyssal bludgeon is also two-handed and is the best weapon to use when training strength if you're not dharoking. It does cost 46m though, and the saradomin sword does provide a slight prayer bonus which are factors to consider depending on what method you use and how much money you have to invest for training purposes.

For your original question, I find using absorption pots with bandos to be the best mix of AFKability and xp. There isn't any reason to train with guthans unless you're sleeping or actually away from the computer and have a workaround for the afk timer because the xp is just so bad.

That's weird, you definitely shouldn't have any problems in normal, and even hard (assuming that's what you probably meant) should be manageable with those stats especially if you use overloads. The only difference between normal and hard mode is that the attack/strength/hp levels of the bosses are doubled - their defence levels remain the same (aka always use hard if you're going to be praying or if you have good gear with reasonably high defence).

I recently got 99 strength on a 1 def pure with sara sword and ppots. It was not as expensive as I had thought.
I used a little over 1k ppots, which cost me about 14-15m. At the end I had 40m NMZ points, which I spent on seaweed and sold at 70 ea. I got back 12m from the seaweed alone, and 1-2m from the herb boxes.

As for XP rates: I tried both blugdeon and sara sword. Bludgeon gave me 5k+ more XP/h so I ditched it and went back to SS.

Whip and SS have identical stats except for a +2 prayer bonus, so if you can fill a shield slot with basically anything, i.e. a damaged book (+5 pray) if you would be praying or an obby shield if you would be using absorptions, you're better off using that and a whip over an SS for training attack and defence.

I think I have 2 improvements over these two methods:

For the first one, replace tassets and helm with barrows. You will increase afk time while loosing some xp/hr.(Bandos tassets is just +2 str but has 25% less defence).

And regarding dharoking, why can't you afk for longer? Just let 5/10/15 minutes go by and eat a rock cake again, who cares if you eventually die, you can just rejoin.

    Can someone test this?

This would work if your absorb runs out, pray melee and eat the rock cake.
Obviously less xp/h as you'll be hitting higher less as your hp goes up.

Rock cake doesn't do damage if you have absorb charges still.
