Accountwarehouse holding ID

Hello,


What is the legality of accountwarehouse.com holding your identification 'indefinitely' and them not regarding your requests to remove it from their system. I am sure they will post here and share their input as I have seen them do to numerous threads. I have no other concerns besides the fact that they are an online merchant, if that's what you can call them, and they have my personal identification info. Cyber security is a real threat and I don't trust any company/websites 'word' that it be safekeeping on their system, i.e. equifax (unrelated)

What can I do about them relinquishing my personal identification info?

Accountwarehouse is an account selling website and when you sell an account you sell it for lifetime, so they need to keep the sellers information for if problems arise on the long term. If every seller would be able to just remove their ID from their database sellers have no reason not to potentially recover their account(s) back.

 

As Shexy said above, them keeping your personal information on the database is to ensure they don't get scammed by someone in a years time who recovers the account, and provides a more full secure transaction knowing the person who sold the account to Accountwarehouse has given across their information in case anything happens to the account. It's security for both the website and the potential customer looking to buy the account afterwards.

I also believe that they wouldn't hand off your details to just anyone, since I believe they could very well land themselves in legal issues if a problem like that would arise.

 

from what ive heard from a friend after a problem arose from an account he had sold they threatened to turn his ID into the local police department, absolutely nothing came of it whatsoever

 

It gives some kind of security to account selling.
They cannot really do anything legal, if account gets recovered from them. As you both break Jagex laws.
