Account Rentals

I've suggested in the staff lounge that account rental scam reports should provide the login username of the account in question that way a lot more accounts would be added to the sticky. I tried looking through past account rental scam reports and couldn't find a single one to add because the login information wasn't disclosed. This should help with the issue.

 

I said no.

This would take too much effort for people looking through to find black listed usernames and/or display names. The list has to contain one, if not both of them.

 

He's referring to how to get a mod/someone with perms to update the list to include the new information, because obviously he won't be able do it himself... but in this case I think just reporting the post with the correct information like Clock said would be an easier way to do it.

 

Added a new template for account rental scams to rasc. It'll be required that proof of the username login being provided to the victim must be shown before concluding the report. This way, the sticky will be filled a bit. Hopefully that will weed out the ban evaders and scammers a bit.

 

That's a good addition imo. now we just need to task someone with the job of updating that sticky.

 

I'll update it periodically if whoever handles the reports doesn't do it, or you can report the post, and we'll add it.
