Anyways Does anyone know why whips have crashed so much and continue to do so? And do you think that it will reach that 3 mill mark again and if so when.

 

I believe whips have crashed because of the basic supply and demand system (and the free trade update)

In the past:

Supply: Mostly from slayer, a few lucky pkers will get whips
Demand: Average, pkers, skillers, etc. buy them

Now:

Supply: Slayer A N D Pking, as generated loot is gone
Demand: Same

As there is higher supply and lower demand, the prices have dropped. IMO they're going to continue to drop, and I don't ever see them going back to 3m unless Jagex does something like bringing back a few generated loot worlds

 

I don't think it will ever go over 3mil now.

 

There's really no way to lose a whip forever unless you drop it and no one picks it up. Like BeeStar said, whips are coming in at an all time high compared to when there were PvP worlds. Thus, the demand isn't that high.

 

so many new weapon's people prefer over the whip now for pkin due to spec and stakeing like they are not as good

 

I'll tell you why they crashed. It had nothing to do with the update. Huge botting sites made slayer bots and kids would just farm whips all day on them, therefore creating a large QD and lowering the price.

 

I think since nobody is willing to pay a lot for something they can lose in a second. So they just don't buy them. PEople want to sell them so they are willing to sell at a lower price in order to find buyers.

 

So many people botting slayer at abby demons, they get a whip drop every 2 hours

 

i think whips will keep crashing because the supply is far more then the demand. so they all sell for lowest and cause them to keep dropping.

 

i think whips crashed... because i don't know. lol. but i do know that in the past they used to be 1.3M

 

I think the reason it's still crashing right now is because people are selling their gear to buy supplies in anticipation for the BXP weekend.

 

He's talking about the long term fall since Free Trade came back. but yeah, BEW is a factor (most non skill items crash when BEW is announced)

 

Almost every world at abby demons is packed now due to botters and legit players loading up their yaks/torts with infernal ashes.

Whips continue to drop everyday now and will do so since none are being brought out of the game

 

There is a new slay bot, and so people can supply more much more easier.

 

I can see them going all the way down to 1M.

 

Because they're over rated..

 

I plan on buying 20+ of them at 900k, if they get that low.

If someone loses a whip pking it isn't removed from the game anymore.

The person who loots it will attempt to sell it, which causes more whips to stay in the market; and hence, by the laws of supply and demand, causes whip prices to go down.

It can be expected that over the next week or so whips will drop a little faster than usual, mostly due to the bonus xp weekend. You should not believe that their drop is only due to the weekend though. Whips were dropping long before it was announced.

 

they wont go back up to 3 mil again unless they remove wildy again.
