I bought a account of blaaaz on the 20th of august. After I'd played the account for about 3 weeks, I decided to sell it again. R2pleasent was buying accounts (click for thread). He is one of the most trusted people here, so I trusted him. He had made that shop in april, but reopened it in September (click for proof). In that post (see proof), he told people to contact his associate, James, if you wanted to sell a account. You should contact him at [email protected]. I did and we came to a agreement (click for proof).

The time of the last edit of the MSN log and the time James made his last respond are the same, so I didn't edit the log.

A few days after that (14 september), I wanted to contact James again. I was worried because he claimed his MSN account was hacked and Will (R2pleasent) closed the thread about him and James buying accounts. He wasn't online, but James added me from a new MSN. To make sure it wasn't a scammer adding me, I requested a PM, and James did sent me a PM (click here for proof).

A few days later (17 september) I contacted Will because James hadn't been online for a few days and I wanted to know what was going on. Will added James to the conversation (click for proof). It was a different MSN account than James used to add me, but because Will added James to the conversation, so I trusted this account. At this point Will still trusted James, because he added him to the convention, and he wouldn't have done that if Will didn't trust James. I have proof he changed his account to [email protected] (click for proof). It's another log of the same conversation, meaning MSN makes a new log when someone is added to a conversation. I don't have proof of James adding me from the other MSN account, as I deleted that account at the moment he used a new one. I didn't want to confuse myself by having 3 accounts of James, of which 2 weren't in use.

From here on I had contact with him from time to time. At one point, he said he worked for Will IRL (click for proof), so I guessed he was more a employee than a associate. Not much else happened related to the scam, so therefore not worth posting. I still have the logs, so if you're interested, I'll give them over MSN.

Then at (I believe, not sure) 24 september Hamjamk told on IRC he wanted to sell a account, so I recommended him contacting James as he was supposed to be a trusted and offered me a great price. Hamjamk was more suspicious than me and contacted Will before selling his account to James. Will denied James was his employee and told to recover any accounts sold to James. Hamjamk came on IRC and told me I got scammed (click for proof). Some unimportant info/spam is removed. Admins can probably check what happened on IRC, so I don't think it's needed to post any evidence to proof this is not fake.

I tried to recover the account several times, and even asked the original seller, blaaaz, to recover the account, but all recoveries were denied. You could say I trusted James too much, didn't let him PM his MSN or I should have had better information of the account I tried to sell, but I trusted him, and the account bought from Blaaaz was recovery tested. I trusted him because Will trusted him. In the end, there wasn't really anything I could've done about it. All I did was trusting the judgement, about a associate, of one of the most respected gold sellers here on sythe.

I can't proof that some of the chat logs are unedited, because I talked to the same person several times over MSN. Each time that person or I type something, MSN adds a new line to the logs meaning it is edited. So, for example, I can't proof what James said from his new MSN after Will added him to a conversation, because I've talked to him several times. If you don't trust the evidence, the translation from Dutch to English in the logs or if you have any questions at all, please add my MSN.

This is a lesson for me; don't trust anyone you don't know. Not even the most trusted person here on sythe. I lost a great account which was worth a lot of money to me. I hope you will not make the same mistake as I did.

Thank you for reading.

Yea I'm greatly disappointed R2 hasn't done anything else to attempt to get the account back. He's just put himself at one side and basically blamed it on James. He should take more responsibility and in future pick a partner he knows he can trust.

I was fortunate enough to contact R2 about it and he clarified with me that James wasn't his partner/associate any more, but he should have really contacted everyone who sold an account to James so they could get their account back and not end up in the same hole as Snappie.

As at the time of the agreement for the transaction James was endorsed as an employee of R2Pleasent, then R2Pleasent should have immediately sent you a PM once RS2James was banned to alert you that he was a scammer. As you had completed the transaction before he alerted you, R2Pleasent is required to send you a full refund or be banned, as per the rules.

I'd contact him directly to get your refund worked out.

this is 100% true he has to issue you a refund or get you an account with the same attributes... Rules state it if he never said that one of his employees doesn't work for him anymore because for all we know he might of planned this ...

James wasn't a employee of Will. He claimed to be working for Will IRL, but this was a lie to make me trust him. He was a "associate" of Will. Some skillers in the market section are working together. This doesn't mean when one of them gets banned for scamming, the other is required to refund every person which was scammed.

I agree with you that Will hasn't done as much as he could. If I were him, I would take my responsibility and refund the scammed person, as it was also my fault for trusting a scammer. But I don't think he is required to refund.

Actually, he is. Following past decisions, someone who lays their trust on someone else must be prepared to support that trust at all costs. R2Pleasent, who is marked by Sythe as being Highly Trusted and a Global Moderator accepted RS2James to handle ALL of his account transactions, imparting his accrued trust onto RS2James. It wasn't as if they were running a skilling service togeather where each account is handled seperately, RS2James was presumably supposed to do the work of buying accounts for R2Pleasent and probably get paid a percentage fee. This means that there is no way to prove R2Pleasent wasn't involved in the scam himself. Just as everyone is responsible for their IP, they are responsible for their identity and trust on Sythe.org.

Please note that I am looking at this objectively and I would never expect you to scam an account as you are extremely trusted in my mind.

A full refund, if R2 does not know much about James, then James needed to create a thread by himself, if R2pleasent created a thread, then it means that he takes all the responsibility for this person.

Wills a trusted dude, but he wont take the blame for this even though he technically is responsible for it.

In this case, a punishment should take a place.

You can not offer any people for the croud when you have such a rank.

I don't think Will should repay because He didn't scam anyone. Yeah they were associates, and you assumed he was an employee, Will hadn't said he was.

Also, What else can Will do? Its not like James could be convinced to pay it back. And he shouldn't have to pay it back..

Will talked about him in such a way like he really trusted James, so I also trusted James. If a trusted person says he's working for someone IRL, who am I to doubt that? And working for someone IRL is more a employee than a associate. That's why I thought James was a employee.

R2 basically vouched for someone to do his trading for him, If R2 was prepared to vouch for this 'James' then R2 should take full responsibility if he ends up pissing it up.

It should work the same in any type of employment or as an example :-

Chinese takeaway driver is deliverying a food, Half way there he says fuck it im hungry and im eating this shit, He arrives at the house and gives them half eaten food and drives off. The people that have been scammed out of half there food phone the chinese takeaway that are employing mr eatalot, The people that have been scammed out of half there food give the chinese takeaway a load of shit and the chinese takeaway would HAVE to give a refund or replace the food. The chinese takeaway would probably sack the fatty though.

So far it seems as though R2 has only sacked his employee and not repaid the customers that his employee scammed.

Make sense?

An employer has a certain ammount of responsibility to take into account when vouching for a person to do a job. There reputation is on the line, It'd be in R2's best interest to pay for a refund since it'll just damage him more.

Think on it like the chinese takeaway, there gonna give u a refund and probably give u food aswell PAYING MORE just to keep there reputation.

Then the person should of opened up his own thread. R2 clearly said that R2 is looking for accounts (and to contact James), not that his "associate" is looking for accounts.

IMO R2 should have to refund you or be banned like anyone else.

If he, r2pleasent, posted on HIS thread that you can trade james, then I don't see how he's not responsible for it.

R2P is responsible for it with the evidence you provided. This has happened with staff before and he needs to be treated the same. If I may ask, how much did the account cost or what was its value?

^^^ You have to remember, He's been here a long time and brang done a lot. Special treatment is alright if it's fair.

Ah, not it's not at all. So it's alright for him to go out and scam (just an example not saying he did) or whatever else because he has done a lot? That's a ridiculous statement. Everyone follows the same rules on this site. If he chooses Ban then he can always try and use the Request A High Pardon section.

This is overwhelming, I agree. you trusted Jamed because you trusted R2. But, nobody is making him refund, despite the rules/past decisions. I don't know what to tell you.

If you have a friend vouch one of his workers, and the worker ends up running off with your money, it's not your friend's job to reimburse you for lost funds.

Bad analogy; the deal is between the person and the company in this scenario, so yes, it is the companies responsibility to have the goods delivered to the buyer. From what I gather from this incident, the deal was between R2James and snappie, so it is R2James' responsibility to refund him.
