Ask away. I'll answer anything asked as honestly as I can. Thought I'd make one of these just to be cool like everyone else. (Yes, I actually am a lifeguard.)

Do you wear a speedo or trunks?

 

I work at two pools, at my town's public pool, $7.25 an hour (minimum wage). At the other pool I work at, a high class golf course pool, $8.50 an hour.

36 hours of lifeguard training total. Six sessions on Tuesdays, 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, and two Saturday sessions, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. We learned all the rescues, unconscious victims, active drowning, spinal injuries, etc. I have to re-take the final demonstration test every three years.

No, you don't have to, but I usually wear trunks, as it's almost always hot outside and I go swimming on my breaks.
