I have a tendency to if I'm new to a forum. But if I've been here a while I tend to play it by ear. Also looking at previous posts is a good indicator as well.

As a few others have said, I wouldn't trust anyone on here with anything more than $5.

I use "Join Date" more than anything. Trust is earned, not posted.

Compare my join date to my postcount. Would you trust me with anything over $100?

You see, post count is a kind of trust in regards to loyalty.

A loyal member would maybe post a good amount and that would show his or her faith to the community. Though they don't take active part in the market place, they could be a pretty well-known member. They work hard and I'm very doubtful that they'd risk all the hard work and time they'd put on building their reputation over a life-less and unethical act.

Post count is basically a null factor that can be easily manipulated. I really see little to no point in having a post count.

It leads to people post counting (spamming) but it also offers motivation to be active...

I don't know how you could possible judge someone from his postcount...
Yes, sometimes it's so obvious someone made a new account just to scam noobs with it but someone over 50 posts could be legit and trustworthy...
Someone who got 2000 posts could still scam...
Hell, I got scammed by a Mod before in another famous website... so yea!!!
