The Hard life on Sythe

Hello sythe, i'am here because it's so difficult to be new on the sythe community and try to sell anything, i think many people have the same problem that i have, i know that 90% on sythe are scammers, i will tell you an exemple, other day i was on MSN waiting to receive some proposes about my accounts and one person come out, and told me that he was interested on my account, i was talking to him, and i said to download his account information, so..he called me a scammer because i didn't downloaded that,it's true, the buyer are scammers too, but new people need to gain some trust to get other people, because if 1 person trust at least the other ones will follow him/her etc.."shemale" "cough" sorry, i thank we need all to give opportunity, if i had to trust someone that i don't know, maybe i will not trust, but if i feel like the person is good person or his selling is legit i will trust, i don't know if you guys understand, not here to telling to trade with scammers just to give opportunity to the new persons.
For all that have been scammed on sythe, i feel sorry for them, can't feel how it is being scammed.

 

If your legit, you will get legit trades. The only people who wouldn't buy from you are the ones who are scamming themselves. Unless of course you partake in suspicious trading habits.

Don't generalize the entire sythe population, and I encourage you to keep at it and work hard, because if you trade safely you should have no problems.

Everybody has to start from somewhere, if you're serious about sythe my suggestion to gain some trust would be do some free leveling. Yes, by hand. I gained a few vouches to start off this way, yes It was hard and tedious and by the end I was seriously bored. But, once you become recognised things get a lot easier.

A tip would be start off with trading with some trusted users, you will have to go first but you can at least gain a few vouches for decent amounts of money which can then transfer into smaller trades where others go first to you. Once you have some people going first to you it's pretty easy from there, just keep building up your trust and soon you could be one of the most trusted if you put your heart into it.

 

Trade with trusted users, and if you are trading with someone who isn't very trusted use a middleman.

Yes, it is very hard to get started here on Sythe, especially if you don't have any trust yet.
I was fortunate enough to be trusted by the clan I was in before I joined Sythe. A few people there who were also here vouched for me so it was easier to start it off.

Anyways, the best way to start getting trust here is do free stuff for trusted people, for example: I did like two fire capes for free to people with 1k+ post count. From there I started doing them cheap, and increasing price as my trust increased, ending up with the highest prices on sythe and still getting alot of cape assignments.

If you're legit, show it. Conduct your business legitimately. Don't come off as eager to sell or buy your product, people suppose trickery is at hand.

Also, start small. People don't trust random users with little experience to trades. Back when you were able to sell mem pins, I merched them, got a little profit and friends that were trusted because I sold and bought from them numerous times.

It's all about how you appear to the user.

In your sig, the part that says

To tell you the truth, most people instantly assume anyone with a sig that says "I won't scam", will in fact scam.


Also,

Like The Riddler said, most people won't be willing to go first to newcomers, so it should be up to you to identify the legit buyers, so that you can go first to them and build up a bit of trust. Make sure they have vouches (legit vouches, not just a few random vouches for 10m trades).

Maybe you could try donating a bit of money to the site as well, and in turn you'll receive a donor rank ($5 is a good place to start if you're on a budget). Give yourself a more professional look; use a nice looking sig, avatar, etc.

 

Learn to watch who you trade with and it won't be a problem.
