I don't see why everyone complains about the price... It seems pretty fair to me.. I bought the xbox one on the first day of release I paid almost 800$ for everything to get started playing... people were selling them on craiglist for $1500... just wait and the price will go down if your that worried...

What amazes me though is that there website crashed when preorders were allowed to commence because of the amount of people accessing it.. This is just the begining.. i wish i didn't buy my xbox, i would have totally have purchased this instead i dont even touch my xbone and its not worth selling at this.

Apparently that was their solution to combat the rumors about a higher price point circulating.

I'm not at odds with the $600 price tag. To me it seems fair, after all it's premium technology and it's new to the market, what do you expect? Palmer Luckey also said they made significant upgrades to the Rift which aided in rendering the price up to where it is now.

You pay as much for your smartphones or next gen consoles once you think about it, and a gaming computer costs three times as much. The price isn't outrageous, considering the original investment they are trying to make back as well. The tech will continue to advance as it reaches a broader audience, it will become cheaper and the experience quality will improve.

I think it sounds reasonable since it's a new piece of technology. Is there any competition?

As time goes by, they will develop better technology and the price will go down. For now, they're basically charging the premium to whoever wants it before anyone else. Seems fair to me, people could just wait for the price to drop.

$600 seems completely reasonable considering this product is targeted towards innovators/early adopters and not the majority. Looking at other technological devices that were a breakthrough, the prices were pretty similar. For the majority atm, Google Cardboard is a better option to buy, while waiting for VR tech to become better and more efficient (-->cheaper).

I mean it's a stretch but if you just want to try it and you live in Toronto, Ryerson University has a lab in the SLC building where they have a few set up with some demo games. It's pretty fucking cool. They take you around there on campus tours afaik so if you're not a student you can still sign up for a tour just for the VR lmao.

guys .... this was invented years ago. the difference between now and 5 years ago is that 5 years ago the technology to make these things costed much more.. theyre now down to 600$

technology goes obsolete after couple of months thats why its at a prime price range for a normal consumer to buy.

its a no brainer that in 6 -12 months price will decrease once more and there will be other forms of technology that will replace this amazing creation that everyone thinks ..

    i dont support occulus tbh.
