I do agree about stopping the whole trolling buisness,but from the way you worded your post,it seemed like you thought all members here were trolls.Sorry if what I thought was wrong..

Treat the idea you are discussing as you would treat another person when conversing on this forum. This is why people get so upset when their ideology is insulted, because it is part of their way of life, and so it is insulting them as a person.

This is a very difficult concept to understand, but I would like you to try.

Treat the idea you are discussing as you would treat another person when conversing on this forum. This is why people get so upset when their ideology is insulted, because it is part of their way of life, and so it is insulting them as a person.

This is a very difficult concept to understand, but I would like you to try.

I would rather have someone flame somebody's belief, than the person.

It's what debating is about, attacking views, not the person.

Personal Jeusus, as far as I'm concerned the damage a suicide bomber may cause is far less significant than the damage a single scientist may cause to the collective simply by fueling a corrupt paradigm.

Strawman argument... But hey, why not. What scientists empirically agree on is what should be accepted as fact. The majority of scientists doesn't mislead the public by using incorrect examples.

You will disagree with me obviously, but I'm just trying to illustrate that it would be very easy for me to discriminate against atheists if I felt so inclined... except I know that discrimination doesn't work. It doesn't fix anything. It just creates fights and fuels negative energy, which is already rampant here.

There's a big difference between discriminating and disagreeing with. It's not discrimination if you think atheists and their beliefs (or lack thereof) are stupid, ridiculous, ignorant, you name it. It's not discrimination if you poke fun of atheists, or claim that evolution and the Big Bang Theory is a load of catpiss.

It is discrimination if you deny an atheist a seat in the bus simply because he or she is an atheist. It's discrimination if you physically or verbally assault an atheist simply for being an atheist. This whole "omg somebody's poking fun of our beliefs; INTOLLERANT BASTARD!@" is the story about the boy who cried wolf all over again.

There is NO ONE on this forum, including myself, that has the authority to dictate the laws of the cosmos to anyone as absolute truth, we can all share the truth that we find to be True to ourselves, but truth is a lot more subjective than you might suspect. There is no specific paradigm that has the authority to do so either, which includes both science and religion. Each perspective has to be viewed as a single piece of the much grander puzzle for anyone to get anywhere new.

We are all equals here.
