    I don't see philosophy as a narrow topic.

    Thanks, but I still have to put in the work.

    I love philosophy.

    I would like to get the point across with the least amount of work - in this case, writing a page or less. I do not appreciate my professor's orders to go beyond what is absolutely necessary.

    Why wouldn't it make sense for an English teacher to give you a page minimum. The more you write generally the better of a writer you become. It's likely you won't learn as much writing one page compared to seven. Teaching you is the job of the teacher. I don't see how this is unreasonable.

    You love philosophy and you know a lot about it. You write about philosophy for a hobby now you just have to do it for real.

    I prefer to judge a paper on its content, not number of pages.

    And I have. Now I need to fill another five pages with fluff.
