Power doesn't necessarily make you happy.

That depends on your state of mind.

Personally I love power; it gets things done.

Power can't make you happy, people kill themselves everyday for having too much power, because they cant find love, everyone just wants part of the power if you know what I mean.

Power does make people happy. Would you be more happy living where you are now, with the clothes you have now, or would you like a nice house, fancy cars and high quality clothes? If they can't find love it is because they are unattractive to the opposite sex, have a terrible personality, or are extremely arrogant. The only reason people are unhappy because of their power is when they have let it rule their lives, or when they have become reliant on the power. It really takes an idiot for that to happen. What you should have said was:

"People decide they are better than everyone else because they are powerful, this is why they cannot find love."

Power doesn't get things done. The people that the powerful boss around are the ones that get things done.

Furthering the species is important, yes. But you live to enjoy yourself, and especially to have sex, to have babies, as your instinct =p

I will correct myself: Power is the driving force that gets things done. Without people in power, there would simply be chaos and disorganisation - And that gets nothing done. Therefore, I like power, of sorts.

Gridsword, what if the furthering of a species leads to it's own demise? Surely you can see that if the world's societies continue as they are, we will diminish, we will die out. Of course, this will take hundreds of years, so it isn't my problem, however the negative impact of advancing society to this very planet is something the masses overlook and will continue to overlook until it is too late or very little time to do anything.

Then we will all die. It is our nature and our instinct.

-my theory pretty much. obstacles will get in ur way in life but dont let them bring u down too much and try to be as good of a person as u can be but have fun along the way.

ya know we probably will have another war...and another, but dont stress out on bad things in life or the "end of humanity". help the world to not go in that direction but have fun with ur only life. u only live once so enjoy it

    This made me laugh.

And to whoever said ignorance is bliss, I wasn't discrediting you with my statement "knowledge is power". Both hold true I suppose. I really do envy the simple minded ignorant cretants of this world from time to time. In a sense they are living the meaning of life out better than I am. This being if we all agree that the meaning of life is personal happiness.

If only I were not plaged to use logic to understand that my life is very much finite and what I do will have no resonding effect on myself. On the other hand, should I think of it as being liberating that I understand life and the world around me better than most?

Some people aren't 100% sure if there is a God, but some are. For those that are 100% sure are the ones who know that there is a after life, so some people do know and some don't.

Allow me to ask a silly question: Is it logically possible that the vision you have had was implanted into your brain by an alien species?
