I vote Rap.
Nor can I stand rap.
I started listening to Metal as a "scene", I liked rock originally, and really hated rap. Groups such as Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd have been some of my soul inspiration since then.
Since I started listening to Metal, I've started to appreciate it more. I listen to it mostly for the instrumentals, but with bands like Morbid Angel, the vocals are just magnificent. You may say it's just screaming, but for me, the brutality and heaviness that it displays is just legendary - This is part of the reason why I listen to Death Metal more than any other genre.
Rap, in my opinion, really isn't music. I could even go so far as to liken it to a poet in a night club. You get your beats and music, and some rhyming on top of it.
omg, u serious?.. holy shit, death metal is better than rap?? wtf.. just legendary? more like just shit.. im actually shaking my head at the fact that someone would rate death metal of all genre's, ahead of rap -.-.. jeeeez im shocked
...And yet you haven't cared to explain why?
*Hem*, Some of us quite like the "brutality" of it all, you see. Death Metal isn't made to be completely understood lyrically, otherwise there would be clean vocals, and that would defeat the purpose of Death Metal.omg, u serious?.. holy shit, death metal is better than rap?? wtf.. just legendary? more like just shit.. im actually shaking my head at the fact that someone would rate death metal of all genre's, ahead of rap -.-.. jeeeez im shocked

Death Metal is better than rap in my opinion because the patterns of the genre are a much more welcoming sound to my ear. I honestly can not stand rap, it's honestly not music if I may say so. I'm sure I could create a simple beat in Fruityloops and make a rhyme to go with it.
I'm also sure not so many people could create extremely famous guitar riffs, bass lines and drum solos. Death was the foundation of Death Metal, and the rise of Morbid Angel ensured the genre to be legendary - and mark my words, I've tried to play their riffs and failed. They ARE legendary.
If, by Death Metal, you are either confused between other genres, or have based an opinion on bands such as Cannibal Corpse, then I'm sure I can forgive you for that bashful statement, however I do and always will like Death Metal over Rap, and that's no reason to be bashful about anything. So what? You listen to simplistic computer-generated noises and what I consider somewhat boring rhymes by artists such as .50cent, and I listen to brutal riffs and harsh vocals. Such is what I like, and if you've got a problem with the fact that everyone has an opinion, kindly go out and spend some time in society.
Purearcha7, I'm sure you're correct in saying it can have more meaning than a lot of songs, though I doubt it would have more meaning than any other genre. Rap sounds really quite dull to me though. A monotonous voice is the last thing I want to listen to in music, and I am indeed passionate about my music collection.
- No, u may not.... Coz it isit's honestly not music if I may say so
- I do, and atleast i can be accepted in society, while ur wearing some screwed up, all black, leather boots and a cloak... being rejected by every normal personkindly go out and spend some time in society.
- even though you're wrong.. At least you can understand them.. what's the point of having vocals if you're not going to understand them... its just retarded..simplistic computer-generated noises and what I consider somewhat boring rhymes by artists such as .50cent
- You mean for that 100% correct statement..I'm sure I can forgive you for that bashful statement.
- All Death metal means is KILLING YOURSELF AND WORSHIPING THE DEVIL!!!!!!it can have more meaning than a lot of songs, though I doubt it would have more meaning
