Account locked?

A friend did 3-4 hours of training on my account for me on DXP. We are from different countries. I tried to log in later and it said "too many login attempts from your address. Please try again after 5 minutes." Tried again after 20ish minutes and still the same message, so I tried resetting password and the email I got said PASSWORD RESET COMPLETED
Character Name Unavailable, you have successfully reset your password for your Jagex account.
You can now use your new password to log in to RuneScape or Old School RuneScape.
But I still get the same message when I try to login on client/website. I have received no emails from jagex regarding my account since the sharing. It seems that my friend was able to log in while it showed me that message. Can anyone experienced with this kind of thing give me an idea of whats going on?

Try and recover the account, should fix it

 

I tried to recover and change the password. I still get the same message unless I use a VPN in which case it works. Do I just have to wait it out or can I do something about it?

 

Forgot to mention, but it did reset the password. Just seems like my IP is blocked.

 

Your friend may have got your IP Blacklisted if they are a big botter

 

They did not bot though

 

Im not saying he did but if he is a big botter and has had a blanket ban all ips and associated ips maybe black listed too idk.

 

He said his friend is still able to login, so I doubt that’s the case. You’ve most likely just temporarily locked yourself out of the account. I’d be willing to bet it’ll work once you give it a few hours.

 

Did you end up getting back in?

 

Try logging in to another computer with different IP address just to check other possibilities?
