I bought an account off flipz yesterday for 449m 07. spicy was the middleman and can confirm.
today I tried logging in and the account was locked + the email was changed.
I even gave him the current password of the account to prove ownership.
pls help me out with this!

Hey, Fling contacted me on discord faking a recovery, once I replied he then said it was locked and the email changed, he also gave me the current password. I then contacted @BlackBlasses what to do in this situation as it's impossible for me to have recovered it when he knows the current password.

BlackBlasses' response was:



I'm just following what I was told to do.

I also showed BlackBlasses the conversation and had him login to the account to confirm that the password he gave is correct.

 

I wasn't faking a recovery, the account was locked and the email was changed. if I tried to sell the account. why would the password remain the same? which stupid person wouldn't change the password?

when the account was sold was it just a pw change or email changed to his too?

I gave him the login&password and when I asked what email he wanted it set to he requested he was sent the email change link.

The email was changed from what I had it set to, the password had also changed from the one I gave him which he had requested the email from jagex for himself.

 

why would it be so tough to just recover and send me an email change?
in rare cases sometimes it happens automatically if jagex suspects its stolen but just ask for email change again

So only you know the password. If email was changed by @Flipz or anybody else you wouldn't have known the password as it would have changed. It's fairly clear that you changed the email yourself? Care to explain?

 

@Azie, I haven't changed the email myself. if I have not gotten a single email regarding this on my email either. why would I change the email myself and ask for him to recover it?

 

So are you suggesting someone managed to change the email on the account and set the password to whatever you had set the password to? did you share your password with anyone?

 

I haven't shared the password with anyone. nor have I resold the account. I literally was about to get on to Play with the clan and this happened.

The account does seem locked could you send an appeal and keep me updated? feel free to discord me if you need

 

I have sent in a recovery appeal under an email supplied by Azie.

 

Recovery appeal has been sent however I will gain access to that gmail account in 3-5 days as I had to recover it.

Thought I'd chime in with some notes:

I had a similar situation. I sold an account, we changed emails and passwords and user decided he wanted a recovery test. I said no problem, he did the appeal. Account was locked, and when this happened the account email address reverted BACK to my original email that was on the account. The even weirder thing was that the login email was what it reverted to, not even the email that was previously registered under. I had to get access to that email and help him unlock the account.

Not sure if this is a new thing Jagex does when they lock an account, but thought it might relate.
