Mac's are gay.

Don't get Linux when you're just a simple PC user, because it's just for more of professional people.

Are you simply following a stereotype? Macs are very good computers, I don't own one, but I use them whenever I can at school, and at mates houses.

The choice is obvious. Linux. I'd consider myself a simple PC user, and I use Linux regularly. Linux can take a little getting use to, but after the bumpy bits at the start its pretty much all smooth sailing (assuming you don't go way in over your head with customization).

Linux is free. That's the whole basis of it.

You can run Mac on PC with VMware.

You can do all of that on Linux, except photoshop.
You'd have to emulate windows for that... or bend over backwards to get something like wine set up.

But Windows seems best for you. Linux provides nothing you need, unless you don't already have winxp... then you might as well try linux first before buying windows.

I never had to bend over backwards to install Photoshop, Steam etc. ;)

CXOffice isn't actually emulation as far as I know, its an implementation of the Windows API.

Win API clones are probably designed to work easily with particular target software. Photoshop may be one of them, I don't know. But most software has been a pain to get working correctly.

Wine sucks, simple as that.
