Right or wrong?
(Not sure, but I don't think I've seen a thread on this..)

Personally I think it's wrong. At first it was initiated to help girls who have been raped etc..girls whos pregnancy wasn't something they could help. Then it simply became an act where girls could drop all responsibility for their actions. (Sex= they fucked up..didn't use a good condom mabye? =p)
Even at that I, personally think they should still have the baby, worst comes to worst throw it up for adoption.. Really it's just a justified murder.

Oh and I saw a neat T-shirt.. said:

Hitler- 6 million
Stalin- 12 million
Roe vs. Wade- 42 million and counting

Who's more guilty?

Counting the fact that Stalin actually killed somewhere in the neighborhood of 50 million people, I'd say he is the most guilty.

The United States Constitution explicitly states that all rights not attributed to the Federal Government go to either the States, or the People. Roe vs. Wade determined that the privacy of one's own body belonged to the person themself. Therefore, the morality of abortion is irrelevant. It is the woman's body, and she has the right to deal with it as she pleases.

Affirmative, I agree. Her body, her rules. No argueing to be honest, unless your the Father. You can try persuade her to keep it otherwise..

Shredder, Stalin isn't still going either.. might not have been his name of the shirt..ntl though..
So just because a woman gets pregnant, since it's her body she has the right to kill the baby..
Using that logic isn't it right, that if you're a parent you can kill your kid whenever..

I agree. But Im 15 and im shagging my girlfriend I wear a condom and she is on the pill but I would still want her to get an abortion I dont think im ready to be a father at 15.

That's not what I'm saying. I'm saying that since it's her body, whatever she does with it is not a concern of the government.

Also, up to a point, I wouldn't call the fetus a baby.

Not at all. As a kid, you don't reside inside your mothers body.

Nobody cares about your story. The only thing easier than getting a hormonal 15 year old girl to sleep with you is paying for it (and they're essentially the same thing). Next time, sound the slightest bit intelligence by saying you're 15 and if you were to have a kid you'd want the girl to get an abortion because 15 is too young. Even so, people argue that you can put the baby up for adoption, so that doesn't even progress the topic.

This is like the 80th topic on abortion. Shredder, you really should have a subforum under SFA for commonly argued topics. That way the same people don't carry these topics over and over again.

To address the first post:

It depends on how long the woman has been pregnant. A woman shouldn't be able to try to terminate half way though the pregnancy, but saying getting rid of a fertalized egg is murder means we should charge women who have miscarriages with murder too. If someone has an abortion, it means they don't want the kid (it could be neglected or sent to an adoption agency), can't afford it (runaway, bad childhood, starving, name your choice), and/or is too young (doesn't a kid on a college app look great? No, you ruin the future of the mother).

Abuse
Adoption
Poor Education
Hunger
Not Watched
Bad Community
Running Away

Take your pick, all of them lead to a horrible (if they get there) adulthood. I'm too lazy to pull up the statistics on how many kids from low income/not ready/adoption facilities or families have violent, unsuccessful, non existant, or future that would (to phrase it bluntly) been better spent dead.

Find one of the old threads and read it, no matter what you argue someone (in what I recall was 38 pages) will have addressed it.

what pisses me off is that people are alright with the killing of animals but when it comes to humans its wrong. whats the difference? we are all related, we all came from a common ancestor. So, how is that different?

in the bible it says were allowed to kill some animals for food, im not for killing animals but we have to kill some for food

doesnt it also say in the bible something about how he created the universe in 6 days and rested on the 7th?

we know thats fake because of evolution.

I think abortion is wrong. If you get pregnant, it's your own fault, unless the condom or birth control pills failed, in which case, you are still retarded. You must consider the consequences before you act.

Killing a baby because you made a dumb move and can't take responsibility for your actions is basically murder.

It's also your own business.

Not necessarily.

You consider picture A to be the same as picture B?

In my mind, the fetus has the same potential for life as the born baby.

Ok if you decide to just have sex with your girlfriend or something and dont either use protection or think about what may happen, thats not a reallly smart move.

You do have good points though, I applaud. Of course, i didnt expect less

A seperated sperm and egg have potential to be a baby. Are condoms therefore immoral?

Also, don't double post.

I would recommend that you be educated in evolution studies, encompassing biology, genetics, geology, physics, etc. That will address the doubts you have posted on evolution.

i guess you talk about stuff like this quite profunctorily.

Well, you have to think about whether you want a baby or not first, and if you dont and get pregnant, then you are stuck. The sperm and egg have potential, but only if you want them to, or if its an unavoidable mishap.

A fetus has potential, but only if the mother wants it to keep on growing.

I think abortion is wrong because it is killing a living thing. If a mother does not want the baby, then she should still have it, then put it up for adaption.

Doesn't matter. It's a matter of personal privacy.

Personal Privacy, So should the government be able to stop someone from killing themselves? It is a very private matter and it has nothing to do with anyone else.
