Death Note

I have been seeing this anime everywhere especially on hulu, i usually don't watch anime unless recommended by friends of mine, Has anyone watched it to give me a brief review on it?

 

Would recommend.

I never liked anime, but @Mootrucks keeps posting anime pictures I was like "ye fuck it, I'ma try one show".. And I actually tried Death note.

Started watching Sunday, finished it on Thursday. Kept watching all of the eposides one by one. The story is;

A book/note that is thrown to Earth by a god of death (Shinigami?) That note when you write a name - that person will die from a (cardiac arrest/heart attack)? There's this guy called Kira, he currently poses the book in order to make earth a good place for good people. He keeps killing all of the bad guys/criminals with the note (death note). But there's 2 guys (mostly) and an organization that is trying to catch Kira. Called L and R? Their mission is to catch Kira and stop all of the mass killings. And Kira is on the mission of Killing people and also stopping L and R.


P.S; there's 3 movies for death note - try watching them if you don't want the show.

 

Cant exactly remember the seasons etc, watched Death Note quite some time ago. But the best season is season 1 (or something, till a particuLar person dies). After that it gets somewhat worse, but still its worth watching.

 

It's worth watching up until episode 25 or so if I remember correctly.

 

Death Note is a super simple anime that almost everyone loves... especially the first season. It isn't perfect, but I sure as heck love it. It is super short so you can watch the whole thing and I think you should. Most people get too attached to the way things were before a certain change in the storyline, but I think that it is equally as good, if not better, past that change. At least story-wise. Character-wise... nah.

Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood was really good too. Just don't watch the original series....

Once you get to episode 25 it isn't worth watching.

 

I'd recommend you watch it. It's one of the 'better' anime out there.

 

It's pretty good. It's not in my top 5 favorites, but I highly prefer middle-ages/fantasy themed anime compared to modern day anime (swords > guns), but I think it probably squeezes into my top 10 favorites. By all means, it's very, very good especially for the time period it takes place in.

Without giving away too much, it's about a kid who finds a book that kills people when he writes their name in it and he tries to become a vigilante.

Netflix is currently making (i think it's them making it?) a live-action movie that appears to be, by the trailers, shot in english. I've also heard that it won't be following the anime very closely. I imagine it'll be the death note version of that dragon ball movie everyone hates so much (DB: evolution i think?). There's some older live-action movies. The english dubs are like the old-time godzilla movies, where they just removed the japanese audio and replaced it with english, so the lip movements don't match the words. Doesn't bother me, but I know that drives some people crazy.

But this one I really enjoyed.

Yeah if you haven't seen it yet and you're in to action and intense scenes then I'd definitely recommend Death Note.

 

Plenty of my friends like it but I personally think it's meh. If you're into animes that are thrill and action packed Death Note is definitely something you should consider watching
