you're not a good guy anymore, just a hero
I realized the folly of having such a user-title, I am a humble man by nature so I've removed it as to not incite jealousy and envy over my "good guy" status.
you're not a good guy anymore, just a hero
idrk why staff is put on such a high pedestal. take a look at other forums, like literally a single ok subreddit would have like 6-8+ mods that would each be on like an hour or so a day with odd schedules. if you are committed to a certain section then there's no reason a person shouldn't be mod.
i like @SuF's idea of having a lot of people as mods for each section. as it stands I'd love to apply for OT and Community mod but i would have probably had a better shot a few months ago considering now i cant be on for more than like 2-3 hours a day. i dont see why it's necessary to put a giant workload on 1 or 2 people to moderate an entire section when it can be done by several capable people that are committed to the site and the respective section.
The community gets smaller with more staff.
that's just an assumption ur making. i can understand where ur coming from since i have noticed that once a lot of people get mod they start acting all high and mighty and better than everyone else and don't take part in the community anymore. that's why mods should be people who are actually active and dedicated to the respective section, not just jerkoffs that suck dick for the position.
Wasn't an assumption. This happens all the time. Active members get promoted, prioritize their focus on staff and staff duties. It happened to me as well.
What's a staff?
The CDT has been around forever and just wiped out most of their members because they were useless.
stfu new fagNice one, @Hamouze. Personally I disagree with you - I think after adding a few sectionals, we should be good. The thing that I currently dislike about the current staff is that there are so many globals, I really think there shouldn't be, it should be much harder to get global - once you remove the focus on a section then that section starts getting looser and looser moderation and some sections require tender love and care to grow.
I know a lot of people want me to apply (I've received about 1-35 PMs about it) but I'd like to publicly state that I'm not applying due to extraneous circumstances (I have a bad knee) - once that changes you can look forward to a man of my stature (a good guy) on staff.
Sorry you need an MIT (Mod Intelligence Tech) degree on top of this.im ready to moderate off topic, put me in coach. i got my undergraduate degree from stanford and i'm getting my MD, PhD. from Harvard. i'd be the perfect mod.
but i was planning to do my residency in orthopedics and dank off topic memes
Yeah to participate in the community in the same capacity on top of performing moderator duties suddenly takes a lot of extra time devoted to the site which is why it doesn't happen with a lot of moderators.Wasn't an assumption. This happens all the time. Active members get promoted, prioritize their focus on staff and staff duties. It happened to me as well.
I don't trade, don't trade with anyone claiming to be me!
Shit's really hard to change, yo.Yeah to participate in the community in the same capacity on top of performing moderator duties suddenly takes a lot of extra time devoted to the site which is why it doesn't happen with a lot of moderators.
In that sense one thing I was pushing for was a revamped modscore that would account for posting in sections, posting in SL on topics, creating topics as well and include that into modscore. Always been a firm believer that participation in the community as a member of staff is key.
