    Help!!

    so i sold 1 of my accounts 2 days ago and now the buyer is sending me info saying the account is "locked" i've never sold an account before and im wondering what is happening. I read about it some, and people say the only happens if i would have tried to recover it which i did not. I.he sent me these 2 pictures asking me to send him back personal info which im not going to do...

    Help!!

    This is the wrong section, but that happens when you have a drastic IP change when selling accounts. All you have to do is recover it for him and change the details back to his and it should be fine after that.

    Help!!

    i appreciate it. he is UK so that makes sense. So if i recover for him and change details it wont get locked for good right? i dont want him refunding claiming i did something wrong. and also after i recover for him i just tell not to recover it?

    Help!!

    When you recover, just click you don't have access to the email. Then, just recover the account without knowing the email, enter all of the correct info. If you made the account on the same IP, you should be able to recover it. Once you've recovered it, just send him the link to change the email to his once more.

    it will only let me recovery from the log in screen. every time i try to recovery it sends this to my email.

    Go to the main website, click forgot password, click no, I do not have access to the email and you should be brought to a recovery form asking for creation details.

    Help!!

    Due to your account status, you must start your account recovery from inside the game. Please launch RuneScape and click the forgot password link on the login screen to continue. thats what happens when i click forgot password on main website. then when i try to recover from the log-in screen it sends what i just told you to my email... then when i see my status of the recovery it says failed. ive tried multiple times.. it says "our staff have reviewed it" even though it instantly denies it

    Is there any way you can remove the email off of the account and try again? Do you not have access to your email?

    technically i think its still in the sellers email. since i have yet to sucessfully recovery the account. but theres no way of changing the email if the account is locked. i would assume atleast. im new to all of this. first time ever selling an account and dont want a bad rep.

    also i might need to correct myself if u didnt understand :D im not making much sense now lol. but ive attempted to recovery it and i immediately get that email i sent you the other post. it says: We have received a request to reset the password for your RuneScape account.

    then i click that link it sends me to the account recovery page where i can type in my username and it says it failed. those 2 first pictures is what it says.

    I have no idea, honestly have never encountered this before. You should be able to get to a recover form that asks for creation details.

    yeah like i said i've got to those details every time, i put in everything i remember then immediately after i get the email saying it failed. Obviously they dont really review them that well. Some details i cant remember as i said i created the account in 2005. I haven't actively played the account in 4 years lol. Everytime i get to the recovery form it sends me the email saying it failed.

    Are you still under the same IP as when you created it? If not, that could easily be why.

    If you can't recover the account for the buyer, you're entitled to do a full refund :\

    i think i still have same ip? i mean my brother has used like vpn or w/e sometime in the past.(idk anything about that stuff) But i've lived in the same area since the accounts creation. But regardless of my ip when i recovery the account there is 0 questions about ip or anything like that. and i've logged onto all of accounts with vpn even though the accounts creation is a different ip...never have i had an issue... Also he had full access to the account and its my fault he got it locked? that doesn't make sense. i wouldn't have sold an account since ive had since i was 10 years old if i'd known it would be this much of a hassle. why would it lock 2 days after he had access to the account? just doesnt make sense to me


    i just checked my ip and it is correct.

    It locks because of the drastic IP change. You should've made sure you could recover it before you sold it. Unfortunately, you are responsible.

    when i ask google my ip it says the correct ip, but when i do it on command prompt my ipv4 is in UK. what does that mean?
