Viral Threads

The last made threads are over a year old, and they are spam about the same event. I've looked over them and a lot of them include adf.ly links-which are referral links?

Even though this is a sub-set of the Spam Forums, not really appealing to me seeing those threads. Perhaps the sub-forum would be used if those nonsense posts were archived.

Ah. However, don't you agree the threads there are useless? They should be archived. They consist of spam and old "referral" links. They aren't the ideal viral threads at all.

 

That's sort of the point that OP is trying to make. The section serves no purpose, especially when there is an archive section. I would rather not see "dog fucking" every time I go to the SF.

 

The purpose is if you make a well visited thread your thread is there

That is the point I'm trying to make. I'm pretty sure no one else does either.

Is the feature still available? If so, how many views do you need to have for it to be placed there? Perhaps this could be restarted.

Back to my OP, the first step to restart it, if it was going to be, would be to remove the pointless "viral" threads that are currently listed there, and start anew.

 

I vote for 'Where did name here go' for viral thread. Pls cover the dog fucking.. nobody honestly cares.

and even if it did, would the new visitors stay given this is a runescape blackmarket forum? Idk how effective it is at recruiting new members.

These threads are incredibly inactive I agree.. But it brings some keywords for sythe.org to recruite new members, thats why it's there.

HOWEVER, as someone said, they wont actually stay in a rs blackmarket forum so I support OP.

 

It's good for SEO, nothing else. Traffic is traffic, and even if they don't come for RS, maybe they'll find a different reason to stay? I just don't see the harm done.. There are plenty of sections, and it's a subforum in spam, what's its harming imo. Also, regardless if they stay or not, it still boosts Sythe's over-all SEO ranks, which would help when people look for a rs black market, etc. I guess moving them to the spam section wouldn't really change anything, but what difference does it make regardless.

 

Plus if you don't wanna be subjected to NSFW language and such then the SF should be avoided ;P

 

"Viral" is defined by Google as:

Relating to or involving an image, video, piece of information, etc., that is circulated rapidly and widely from one Internet user to another.

The "Viral posts in the sub-forum right now may talk about a something that circulated throughout the internet that was a rumor and Sythe, but they don't REALLY do that. They are nonsense posts with no other purpose than Referral links.

Those are not REAL viral threads. The "Viral Sub-Form" should be:

A.)Removed forever

or

B.) Should be taken out of the "Spam Forum" as Viral threads on Sythe don't tend to be spam... The sub-forum should be placed in a better place and REAL Viral threads should be put there.

 

Keywords: "Dog fucks girl" "Girl fucks a tampon"

Mind you that thread was created when all the homophobes were banding together.

Still doesn't make sense to me that sythe won't allow two guys or girls kissing because it's NSFW, but they attract traffic by using much, much more disturbing and NSFW ideals.

 

This... I often don't browse the SF when I otherwise would in public because I don't want that shit on my screen.
