Why are there pardons as it is? I'm confused to why it was started. If someone did something worth getting banned for why bring them back?

This guy has the right idea. Scale the fee with the amount scammed. 10-20% sounds good?

Could someone or is someone willing to explain why the Pardon system was implemented to begin with?

There's a thread in the spam forum that has a list of a few more high profile people who were banned again after being pardoned.

Perhaps people should have to pay a non-refundable $5 to post a pardon?

Is 5.00 enough to stop someone from scamming again do you think? Assuming they're going to.

I didn't even notice it to be honest with you. I apologize. I feel like maybe it would be something good to implement. Having everyone's information who was once a scammer actually makes a lot of sense.

I think a base of $5 is reasonable, but for more "expensive" ban reasons, I'd like to see it be higher. Really though, any barrier to re-entry is a good thing that I'm all for... my only hesitation is short-term bans that are more like trade disputes than scamming bans. If you're just disputing with mods/other parties whether to refund someone an account vs refunding them cash, for example, I don't think the $5 fee is necessary. Maybe have mods set a price; $5 is base, $5 + $x% if the scam is over $y, unless otherwise stated.

Nah, don't think so. See above.

And yeah, googling "whatYouWantToKnow sythe" does wonders. I was briefly working on compiling every scam report in an easily-searchable list, but I kind of gave up on that. Can finish it if there's actually interest though...

So maybe we should move that part of it to a suggestion now? The SVU and 25.00 donor part? See if we can get it implemented.

I actually really like the $5 base + a certain percentage of how much was scammed with the percentage going down the bigger the scam.

Example: A user scams $100, he is then required to pay $5 + 10% of the 100 so he would have to pay $15.

Another user scams 1000, so he would have to pay $5 + 5% of the 1000
so he would have to pay $55 in total.

This would be a great "incentive" for people NOT to scam again after being pardoned.

SVU means jack shit, no one's gonna donate $25 after scamming like 10m. $5 is more reasonable imo. Also probably best to have most people agree on one thing before suggesting it; else it'll just be a continuation of this discussion over there :p.

And @ Fran: Yeah, sounds good to me. As an aside, subsequent pardons should be more expensive (5% > 10% or something). If someone would like to poke holes in it though, please do.

I'm not saying it means anything. I'm simply saying that you would still have personal information of a once scammer.

Meh. To many holes in the idea. Example:

    Person 1 scams 2m rs3 gold ($0.70)

    Person 2 scams 6b rs3 gold ($2,600 ish)

So they both have to pay $5 to pardon? Would work better as a percentage.

I don't think this would work. I think it should be based on what you scammed like I had said before. Someone scams 1000, so they have to pay 200? That seems a little extravagant if you ask me. That's just my opinion on the matter though.
