Everyone on this site is a human being and has the right to be treated and treat others with respect regardless of their rank or whatnot. Obviously this doesn't happen most of the time but in your ideal world, everyone would get on with each other and there would be no "special favoured people".

Also I agree everyone deserves the same rules and at the moment we're much to lenient on releasing personal information. I personally think make up to 6 months for everyone depending on severity. I.e personal pictures/facebook is more than a personal skype ect.

Requiring a six month ban is the height of fucking stupidity. Look at Justin's ban. Six months for reposting a fucking picture????????????????????

The point of saying up to was to give staff discretion in their bans so that they could give people what was appropriate for the action. Why? Because people would always get banned for super long times for no reason at all and would have to be pardoned. Same exact reason we finally changed the ban evasion rule to not be a perm if the first ban was a temp.

I was more agreeing on the general 'same rule goes for all' principle. Yeah, I think 6 months is too steep, but if it's a choice between 6 months for staff and 1 month for regular users or 6 for both then I'd go with 6 for both. One hierarchy of users don't deserve special rights/protection over others.

It's the standard duration for pardon re-application. Honestly, I think they're being nice for the severity of committing such an act on an online forum.

The ambiguous wording is probably the most egregious part of this change. "Close personal friends", I could say Farcast is my most endearing and most personal friend, and I may have never even seen his face. Does that mean, given I was a mod, I could choose to ban people for 6 times as many months because farcast is a bro?

It's been 1 month all the time. Suddenly it increases to 6? For what reason, only the protection of certain users which we don't really need to go into.

That is not what this rule says. This rule says that since I posted Richard holland you have to ban me for 6 months. You do not have a choice in the matter. If you don't you are breaking the rules. Fucking retarded.

What is unfair about this? Staff are deliberately and repeatedly targeted by a wide variety of malicious people as a result of simply doing their job. I think its quite fair to afford them additional protection and exclude users who cannot behave themselves amicably toward staff.

If you think the personal information rule should be bumped up as well then post it in rule reform.
