    What would you do?

Just curious what you guys would do if there was an Zombie Apocalypse.

I would, first off head to the kitchen and grab all the bottled water i could out of the fridge fill my bookbag up with them. Also grab some protein bars (for snacks)
Then I would head to to the E-net and get a complete map of my area, then I would print it out. Then I would post a facebook status and ask "Whos alive, and whats you location?" Then I would scope out my back yard then head for the garage. I would gather weapons from my garage.

    Weapons of choice:
    Hammer
    Crow Bar
    and a shovel.

Then I would run back inside and check the posts on facebook to see who is still alive. (everyone knows people will be on facebook if this happens) Then I would had to my gun safe and grab my 9MM, and my gun pouch, and fill the sides with shells. Once I then have acquired my weapons I would head for the garage once again and fire up my grandpas 05 GTO. I would then head to the people who have posted on facebooks location. I would then get all them that i would be able to save. Then I would head to the nearest pharmacy (to stock up on medicine and such). After we have stocked up on medicine, food etc) We would head for the hills. Why you ask? Furthest away you can get from civilization the better. Also the zombies arn't going to come out in the country because of the predators, and the lack of humanity there. After that we would find a big farm, and start our process of closing it off. (high fences etc)
Then we would plant food crops etc, and live off the land untill something is done about the living dead? Well untill we die. (unless the government finds a way to stop it)

    So what would you do?

    What would you do?

I would not settle in a farm rather than that i would get a RV or somthing like that because end of the world it would be easy stealing one it would be big and strong enough to last attacks i would also stock up on ammunition and weapons and try to gather poeple to help me survivce. In simple terms i would travel from palce to place rather than settle because i would eventually find a colony or somthing

    What would you do?

Ok, if there was one I would, Call up my friends, and get a small group going.. Then I would get my bat out of my closet, get my bookbag, some light shoes and clothes.
Then I would, Head to meet up with them. [My Family will either be dead, or heading to alaska, Where I plan to go.] Then, I would take my friends, and we would go to the nearest pawn shop, and Take all the Weapons/Ammo. We will also get a nice big truck, and add some custom 'Anti-Zombie' Gear. We will travel the states, and FSU.

I would travel all the way up to alaska, and make a huge base[I will try to bring some survivors along].. and Secure it down.. With years load of food.

    :D

    What would you do?

I'd grab whatever guns and ammo I have, along with my Katana and knives. Then I'd grab some rifles at the gun store near me along with whatever food, water, and medicine I can get. I think the best place to live would be either an underground basement or maybe a skyscraper. I doubt zombies know how to use elevators and I would blow out a section of the stairs making it impossible for anyone to get up. I live in the city, so I'd be able to get there quick before everything is overrun. I would definitely avoid traveling long distances considering it'd be pretty much impossible. Your only chance would be driving and getting gas would be a pain in the ass.

    What would you do?

Actually probably this to be honest. It really wouldn't even be worth living during a zombie apocalypse. It would be fun for about a day to shoot up some zombies, but after that I'd just live my remaining days high as hell until I'm sick of living and then I'd go out with one final bang.

    Less People, More space :p

Think about it.. More people everyday are planning on what they're gonna do if one happens. So most likely, more people are gonna survive. I mean it's common sense.

    What would you do?

Lol are you serious? I think you forgot that a zombie apocalypse isn't possible. Now that's common sense. Even if it did happen, we would be fucked no matter what. You can sit there and think about what you would do all you want, but I guarantee things would not work out as planned once you're faced with the situation. The World would be in complete chaos. Most likely your house would be burned to the ground with you in it before you even knew what the hell was going on. Besides you wouldn't last long anyways if you think going to Alaska is a good idea. Yeah it might be a good place to live, but getting there would be impossible. You really think the streets are going to be clear and you can just drive straight there? Stopping would be the last thing you'd want to do. I hope you have a private jet in your backyard. When the World does end, we won't see it coming and very few people will be prepared. It's not like we're just going to be able to walk in a grocery store and grab supplies. People will quickly die of dehydration, starvation, disease, the list goes on. I'm sorry, but I would rather just die, then watch everyone and everything I care about die a horrible death, and not have an ounce of hope left. You might want to survive at first, but I really doubt you will for long once everyone around you start dropping like flies. The suicide rate would be through the roof and for good reason. This thread obviously isn't supposed to be realistic and you shouldn't take it so seriously.

    What would you do?

I found this rather funny, considering there are previous encounters in history that have been documented as zombie outbreaks (Small ones of course) AND the Virus does actually exist.. Its called "The Rage Virus " (This is a just rabies air born), the earliest recorded outbreak was in 60,000 B.C KATANDA, CENTRAL AFRICA. And the most recent recorded outbreak it said to have happened in, 2002, U.S Virgin Islands.. and many between those dates that were recorded.. I for one believe that this could happen, however science says that the chance of this happening to an extent were it could not be controlled is about .5/1 Million. I mean think about it.. The government is not going to let you know about these things.. That would cause more trouble then covering them up.. As they did very well.

Here is something I read that is interesting, (National Geographical Channel)

"If a rabies virus can mutate fast enough, it could cause infection within an hour or a few hours. That's entirely plausible," Andreansky said.

Airborne Rabies Would Create "Rage Virus"

But for the rabies virus to trigger a zombie pandemic like in the movies, it would also have to be much more contagious.

Humans typically catch rabies after being bitten by an infected animal, usually a dog—and the infection usually stops there.

Thanks to pet vaccinations, people rarely contract rabies in the United States today, and even fewer people die from the disease. For example, in 2008 only two cases of human rabies infection were reported to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

(See pictures of infectious animals in National Geographic magazine.)

A faster mode of transmission would be through the air, which is how the influenza virus spreads.

"All rabies has to do is go airborne, and you have the rage virus" like in 28 Days Later, Max Mogk, head of the Zombie Research Society, says in the documentary. The international nonprofit is devoted to "raising the level of zombie scholarship in the Arts and Sciences," according to their website.

To be transmitted by air, rabies would have to "borrow" traits from another virus, such as influenza.

Different forms, or strains, of the same virus can swap pieces of genetic code through processes called reassortment or recombination, said Elankumaran Subbiah, a virologist at Virginia Tech who was not involved in the documentary.

But unrelated viruses simply do not hybridize in nature, Subbiah told National Geographic News.

Likewise, it's scientifically unheard of for two radically different viruses such as rabies and influenza to borrow traits, he said.

"They're too different. They cannot share genetic information. Viruses assemble only parts that belong to them, and they don't mix and match from different families."

(Take a quiz on infectious diseases.)

    Engineered Zombie Virus Possible?

It's theoretically possible—though extremely difficult—to create a hybrid rabies-influenza virus using modern genetic-engineering techniques, the University of Miami's Andreansky said.

"Sure, I could imagine a scenario where you mix rabies with a flu virus to get airborne transmission, a measles virus to get personality changes, the encephalitis virus to cook your brain with fever"—and thus increase aggression even further—"and throw in the ebola virus to cause you to bleed from your guts. Combine all these things, and you'll [get] something like a zombie virus," she said.

"But [nature] doesn't allow all of these things to happen at the same time. ... You'd most likely get a dead virus."

And that brings me to the point were I will say that the Zombies wouldn't be a "Hollywood Zombie" They would be much different..

    What would you do?

"Heading for the hills" as you said, OP, is an awful idea, especially at first. Everyone's going to be thinking the same shit so you'll be stuck in insane gridlock heading out of the town/city you're from.

As for me, I'm taking 2 weeks worth of cans from my cupboard (~14 cans, one a day), heading to the pier and stealing a boat. Chill in the middle of Lake Ontario for those 2 weeks and wait for things to die down (cause in a zombie apocalypse your worst enemies are living people, not zombies, at least at first), then come back and figure things out from there. Might boat far East to hit the woods around Kingston or head directly South across the lake to hit the countryside around Rochester. Best bet is to probably boat ~5 hours East and hit the Thousand Islands, and camp out in someone's island cottage for another week or so depending on supplies.

The trick is to be nomadic, never stay in one place for too long. If I can, I'll bring one other person with me (someone I know well) so we can alternate guard duties and such when holed up somewhere, or for boating.

After those two weeks it's straight up survival, anyone who's still alive would most likely be in the countryside. One day, depending on the type of zombies (gradually decaying, intelligent, etc.) I might settle down on a farm as you said you would (or at least some place sustainable).

If none of that's possible I'd probably just hang myself.

    What would you do?

People who say shit like " oh well im going to go steal/ buy guns and food" are fucking dumb. within the first 24 hours the floors of gun stores and super markets would be flowing with the blood of dumb hicks who think they can just walk in and take it, You don't wait until it happens to get your stuff together you get it together NOW! Its like the show doomsday prepers, they will make it because they are getting things together a head of time.Personally i would sit tight in my house with my family, board up windows and set up a 24/7 watch. If some of my closest friends wanted to join me i would let them but not to many, i would get in touch with my neighbors and make sure we are all on the same page and we can help each other out. Sitting tight for the first month or so is going to be your best option, streets will be hectic as hell.

    What would you do?

Interesting read. It does make sense, though it's pretty much impossible for an outbreak to be large enough to actually lead to a zombie apocalypse.

Definitely this. I forgot about getting a boat. That would be ideal if you can manage to get a hold of enough food to last some time. You could always fish for most of your food and there is a process to turn salt water into fresh. The biggest issue would be getting fuel. There are boats that don't have engines, but getting around is of course more difficult. Hopefully you could find a good island that has animals to hunt, a supply of fruit and a source of fresh water. I would also bring seeds with me, so I could farm. If you can do that, then you're pretty much set.

Are you serious lol? Did you not read? He said 'What would you do if a zombie apocalypse happened?' .. and I know it's not gonna be a walk in the park to Alaska .. but I mean why not? You're gonna die sooner or later, so why not travel through the states and live the short time of life, you have left.

    What would you do?

Are you sure you can read or are you just not capable of comprehending anything? Go back and read what you replied to one of my posts. You made it sound like you actually believe a zombie apocalypse is going to happen. This thread is nothing more than just using your imagination, which I think you probably have a bit too much of.

    Lol?

Just because people are jokingly planning on what they would do if a zombie apocalypse happens doesn't at all increase humanity's chances of survival. And yeah traveling the states sounds like a real blast if it were even possible to get the gas to do it. Ahh nothing like the beautiful scenery of dead bodies as far as your eyes can see, burning buildings, complete destruction everywhere, and the constant paranoia of getting your car overrun and getting brutally slaughtered, which would probably be within a day. Hey you can even stop at a nice zombie infested 5-Star hotel and not have to pay a dime. I have an idea. Why don't you just take a road trip while the Earth is still standing? That would probably be a bit more enjoyable don't you think?
