Im sure 99% of you have heard about the new SOPA bill that is going to allow for censorship of american's internet. Honestly its a major step towards a government that no one wants. Check this website out

It may sound like a lost cause, but honestly its one of the few things we can do.

 

Yea. Anyone in the US should go there and send an email to their representatives. Censorship is not okay.

 

What do you mean by 'censorship of the internet'? Are they literally trying to censor what types of things are allowed to be posted on websites, forums etc. to get rid of "inappropriate" content?

I like in Canada and haven't heard anything about this, but it baffles that me that somebody would even bring that sort of idea to the table, and that anybody would support it

Oh my god.. I just read both links and this is insane. How the hell did I never hear of this before? What can we do if we don't live in the US and can't simply just contact a Congress representative?

 

They changed the law so the Youtube point is null since it only applies to international websites now, but still.

 

The problem with bills like this, if they get passed, other countries will soon follow suit.

Look at Google/Yahoo in China.

 

It will make it so you can't cover songs on youtube.. or anything.
So the ONLY music you can find on youtube is that vevo shit.

This is bullshit. What a downright bogus bill...it's the Internet for crying out loud. We all gotta step up and fight for this. Sadly I didn't hear anything about this until just now. Gonna do my part though right now and let others know about this if this passes..hell will break lose once again.

Correction, most countries have censored internet, iran / china / both world powers with censored internet, and those are just the two i know off the top of my head.

 

Those countries also have no personal freedom at all.

 

Apparently they stated they were delaying the hearing until early next year, but in reality they are continuing wednesday? Just what I heard.
