Occupy Wall Street

People are protesting because there is some serious shit wrong with this country. We were all born into this world, none of us are responsible for how things are right now.

Not many people realize this, but we are far(VERY FAR) from the way of life that optimizes happiness for everyone. Everyone wants to be happy, and sadly as much as I like civilization and all it's amenities, civilization serves it's purpose to divide and separate people. That separation is where depression happens and life becomes shitty. What we need to do is start breaking down this world that was built for us so we can build a new and better world.

Thank god for these people that are angry enough to get off the couch and go protest and best of luck to them.

 

Although, i don't agree with you when you said the separation causes depression. I do agree that a wide gap in the rich and poor causes civilizations to collapse, if you then apply the law of uniformitarianism then you'll see how our gap in society will eventually lead to the end of our civilization (USA). If you understand this post you'll agree with it. If you do not you are uneducated so don't bother posting.

That's what it's all about man. Sure people can ignore a few people that talk publicly about it and it's easy to ignore hundreds of thousands of letters written, but when there's this many people(and more every day) standing in your face demanding change, there's nothing you can do to not notice it. There's already over 50,000 people nationwide participating in the Occupy movement, they even have the Unions and the police forces behind them.

Don't hate on the protesters unless you've actually been to a protest. There may not be millions of them, but the ones that are there have heart and a passion for what they're doing.

Change will come if things keep going at the rate they are and people refuse to go unacknowledged.

 

Just an update for those who aren't on twitter: Bloomberg is full of shit (surprise!) and scheduled a cleaning for zucotti park. HOWEVER, while protestors will be allowed back in, no tents, sleepingbags, tarps etc will be allowed (effectively making it impossible to reside in zucotti). The deadline is set at 7 am (but since the Boston police incident, who knows when the NYPD will strike). Numerous celebs are speaking out against the Bloomberg's actions, russell simmons is offering to pay for the cleanup himself.

 

Ridiculous. It just goes to show people how little freedom we actually have in this country. We have freedom, only until someone else decides they don't like how we use it.
